Psalm 1 (O greatly blessed is the man)
Verse 1
O greatly blessed is the man
Who walketh not astray
In counsel of ungodly men,
Nor stands in sinners' way,
Verse 2
Nor sitteth in the scorner's chair,
But placeth his delight
Upon God's law, and meditates
On His law day and night.
Verse 3
He shall be like a tree that grows
Set by the waterside,
Which in its season yields its fruit,
And green its leaves abide;
Verse 4
And all he does shall prosper well.
The wicked are not so,
But are like chaff which by the wind
Is driven to and fro.
Verse 5
In judgement therefore shall not stand
Such as ungodly are,
Nor in th'assembly of the just
Shall wicked men appear.
Verse 6
Because the way of godly men
Is to Jehovah known;
Whereas the way of wicked men
Shall quite be overthrown.

Salmo 1 (Oh cuán dichoso el hombre)
Estrofa 1
Oh cuán dichoso el hombre
que no camina por sendas de descarrío
siguiendo el consejo de malvados,
ni se detiene en la senda de los pecadores.
Estrofa 2
Ni en silla de escarnecedores se ha sentado
sino que pone su deleite
en la ley del Señor y medita
en ella día y noche.
Estrofa 3
Será como un árbol que crece
plantado a la orilla de un río,
que, cuando llega su tiempo, da fruto
y sus hojas jamás se marchitan.
Estrofa 4
¡Todo cuanto hace prospera!
En cambio, no tanto los malvados
pues son como paja
arrastrada por el viento.
Estrofa 5
Por tanto, no se levantarán en el juicio,
pues no aman a Dios,
ni en la congregación de los justos
estarán aquellos que son malvados.
Estrofa 6
Porque el camino de los justos,
es conocido por Dios;
mientras que el de los malvados
será totalmente destruído.
