My Field

My field,
at dawn sown with tears
the prayer of the farmer is heard
my field is watered with dew
that was intoxicated by the warm light
before a hunched harvester, the bent ripe grain
in many steps the polished scythe
will be flown to the heavens

my field is watered with dew
that was intoxicated by the warm light
before a hunched reaper, the bent ripe grain
in many steps the polished scythe
will be flown to the heavens

My field
melted gold spread out on the ground
our joy at the ripe grain

Bedankt!

I would appreciate an assist [@israelwu] with the word קלל in the 7th line.

As it's mentioned also in connection with "fancy" artifacts, it could mean brushed (or polished) thus giving it the gleam, so yes, could be polished. On the other hand, today it certainly is not made of copper or brass therefore "polished" would be a better bet than "copper scythe". It's the best I can do (you should ask a rabbi or a linguist of that period, not an engineer, and not even a mechanical one :-)
