Summer Clearance Sale Of Vanity

Don't show your teeth when you say something
Remember not to smile when you ask for cigarettes
This is not about friendliness
Smiling only attracts attention
And then everyone is more important than you
This is the summer clearance sale of vanity

Don't talk about others, talk about yourself
You're not here to have fun, just hold your glass and don't drink
This is not about truth
Know yourself better
Otherwise everyone is more important than you
This is the summer clearance sale of vanity

"Aren’t you the one who at that time..?" - "Yes!"
"And I saw you, back in the old days when..." - "That's right!"
I'm a bargain in the summer clearance sale of vanity

You’re paying attention to me, that makes me happy again
I’d kiss your feet if you allowed it, oh bliss
But now I have to go on
But don't stop me
There are people who are more important than you
This is the summer clearance sale of vanity

"Aren’t you the one who at that time..?" - "Yes!"
"And I saw you, back in the old days when..." - "That's right!"
I'm a bargain in the summer clearance sale of vanity

Wasn't that fantastic again, wasn't that wonderful
Nobody called, and yet everyone was there
Make yourself important
Pump yourself up a bit
Reach deep into the bargain bin of the summer clearance sale of vanity

Hello, your translation is well done, not a lot to correct,
I propose:
This ... the summer clearance sale of vanity , just the "is" missing in the first two stanzas

A more tricky part is:
Bist du denn nicht der, der damals mit dem - ja
Und dich hab ich gesehen, als seinerzeit - genau
Interpreting these lines I think it's two people talking one with another, the second just cutting off with "yes" and "right", ( the only difficulty is, that the verb in german comes at the end of the phrase, so we have to skip the "dem"):
So I propose:
Aren’t you the one who at that time - yes
And I saw you, back in the old days when - right

Thanks, I didn't really understand that bit. I've made the changes, but with some speech marks to try and convey the idea better.
