Ooh, didn't realise the Eurovision season had already started.

mk87    sob., 22/12/2018 - 23:21

The first national final of the season has just finished. Good choice for the first entry.

FxC90    niedz., 23/12/2018 - 03:52

Is it official?

mk87    niedz., 23/12/2018 - 09:51

Yes, that's the Albanian entry.

Black Mamba    niedz., 23/12/2018 - 19:55

Uhm.. what about the other countries?

mk87    niedz., 23/12/2018 - 20:41

Only one country has selected its entry so far. It has also been revealed that Cyprus' song title will be "Replay" (performed by Tamta) and Armenia has also selected its singer. No lyrics are available so far.

Alma Barroca    niedz., 23/12/2018 - 20:42

Italy's one will only be known in February after the Sanremo Music Festival.

Black Mamba    niedz., 23/12/2018 - 20:48

So, it's official.. Tamta is gonna go with Cyprus..

I thought it was just rumors..

In Germany starts the selection in 18th of May 2019 under the title “Unser Lied für Israel“ so after that our Song is selected and can be entered in this list

Black Mamba    śr., 26/12/2018 - 03:33

In Greece we have no idea yet who will participate... Confused smile

Now here's hoping Albania sticks with singing in Albanian for the actual contest. I'd have everyone singing in their own language: everything sounds better that way. As for those who say, "Well, I don't speak their language", that's why you have the internet.

mk87    wt., 25/12/2018 - 22:45

The singer has already confirmed that the song will be kept in Albanian.

Taeyang    śr., 26/12/2018 - 03:43

I agree with you. It's better when everyone singing in their own language.
"Well, I don't speak their language" I hear that very often in Germany.
There is lyricstranslate.com. Teeth smile

Alma Barroca    śr., 26/12/2018 - 18:50

I agree. I think that singing in their native languages shows respect for their origins - English translations might be too marketing-inclined, as a way for them to promote themselves worldwide... They're not wrong, though, but IMHO keeping songs in their original language keeps their essence...

Black Mamba    śr., 26/12/2018 - 03:13

But countries who "sing" in their οwn language, never come up first.

Ainoa    śr., 26/12/2018 - 20:27

Except when they do? Salvador Sobral won two years ago.
Italy' Ermal Meta and were very well ranked (and should have won) last year.
A Danish singing contestant won in Danish once. They ‘never come up first’ also because there are so few of them compared to contestant singing in English (with bad grammar sometimes).

I wish the quality of songs were better... What's the point in having the same poorly written English pop song sung over and over again?

OpalMoon    śr., 26/12/2018 - 18:21

Exactly. Marija Serifovic also won singing in Serbian. Il Volo should have won their year as well. Portugal is criminally underrated almost every year.

Black Mamba    śr., 26/12/2018 - 03:23

Sorry, but l prefer English language in songs. It's more catchy.

Ainoa    śr., 26/12/2018 - 03:27

Okay... That's your opinion, but I think that the Eurovision should celebrate diversity and the fact that you can have wonderful and catchy songs in all languages.

P.S.: Why do you like your own comments?

BlackSea4ever    śr., 26/12/2018 - 18:38

M likes her own comments - this I don't mind, but when she likes opposite points of view, it drives me crazy... Lol. It also makes me laugh so It's all good. Of course, if she got a badge for everyone asking her why she does it, she would be a Queen Black Mamba.

OpalMoon    śr., 26/12/2018 - 18:23

You can keep the catchy pop tune but in your own language. Then grammar (and diction) will usually be better.

bamba    sob., 29/12/2018 - 17:27

Hi, is there a chance to open a thread for the spanish song. Ot 2019.
