Прикосновение к Есенину

Тихие дома
Улицы все спят
Я запомню эти глаза
Что мне говорят
Свежая листва
Огоньки горят
Я запомню эти слова
Что мне говорят
Ой лёли-лёли
Васильковых глаз
Первый смелый взгляд
Я запомню эти глаза
Что мне говорят
Смятая трава
Песни глухаря
Я запомню эти слова
Было всё не зря.

A Touch to Esenin

Quiet houses,
All the streets sleep,
I will remember these eyes,
What they tell me
Fresh foliage,
Lights shine,
I will remember these words,
What they tell me.
Oh lyoli-lyoli1.
The first brave glance
Of cornflower blue eyes,
I will remember these eyes
What they tell me
Ruffled grass,
The wood grouse's songs
I will remember these words,
Everything was not in vain.

Hi, does the title suggest that she has had the experience of touching Yesenin in writing the poem? Can see the problem with 'a touch of', but I don't find 'a touch to' idiomatic: maybe just 'touching Yesenin'?

Fair enough. It does sound less odd in combination with a body part.

Hi, guys.

The word "Прикосновение" is used in its old literary meaning "Homage to Esenin". It's a certain type of poem in Russian literature inspired by another poet's work(s)

I am trying to find information about that particular meaning/usage but am not having any luck. Do you know of any dictionary that includes it or some other examples of "прикосновение" meaning "homage"?

Not my 1975 Russian-English Dictionary I'm afraid!

Wiktionary, викисловарь and dic.academic.ru often include older and rarer words, meanings and usages, but I couldn't find one specifically along the lines of "homage" or "type of poem inspired by another poet's work(s)" for "прикосновение". In any case, I trust sandring's judgement. A meaning along the lines of 'homage" definitely seems more fitting.

My two cents that kinda make sense.
Another "official " shade of meaning of the word "прикосновение" is "причащение" i.e. communion. Esenin as a deity.

Hi, Kevin.

The word is used in a very peculiar and rare meaning. It's loosely defined here (Second definition)

But here's how Прикосновение is used in the meaning of "Homage to" in modern Russian.

Here's where a preacher explains the word Причастность as Communion, Homage, Respect, Admiration.
