Hej, chlapče

Ja striehnem na tvoj každý krok,
sledujem ťa ako tieň
a milujem ťa celý rok
a ty mňa ani deň.

Refrén:
A túžim,
hej, chlapče, tak túžim
byť stále s tebou,
už to ďalej nevydržím,
byť stále s tebou,
už to ďalej nevydržím.

Tak konečne sa, chlapče, vzruš,
pobozkaj ma aspoň raz,
veď ty si vlastne prvý muž,
čo nemá na mňa čas.

Refrén: (3×)
A túžim,
hej, chlapče, tak túžim
byť stále s tebou,
už to ďalej nevydržím,
byť stále s tebou,
už to ďalej nevydržím.

tłumaczenie na angielski

Hey, boy

I watch for your every step,
follow you as your shadow,
and I am in love with you the whole year,
but you do not love me even for a day.

[Ref:]
I desire,
hey boy, I so desire,
to always be with you,
I can't take this no more,
to always be with you,
I can't take this no more.

So boy, get a bit excited [1],
and kiss me at least once.
You are the first man,
who claims to have no time for me.

[Ref:]
I desire,
hey boy, I so desire,
to always be with you,
I can't take this no more,
to always be with you,
I can't take this no more.

Komentarz autora:

The song is a 1970 cover of Venus from Shocking Blue. Such covers of western music were ubiquitous in Czechoslovakia after 1968 during the "normalisation" period (Soviet invasion, and violent supression of democratisation process) - as the radios were not allowed to play the "capitalist" pop music, but this could be circumvented by using such Slovak or Czech "covers" of popular tunes.

[1]: In 70s the meaning of this (vzruš), would be no doubt "to get excited". But nowadays it means more-or-less plainly "to get horny", which maked the text a bit funny Regular smile
