Heldmaschine - Herz aus Stein

Herz aus Stein

Habe dir so viel geschworen
Wollte ein guter Freund dir sein
Habe mich in mir verborgen
Herz aus Stein
Leere Blicke in den Morgen
Schmerzend sticht der Sonnenschein
Vertrauen habe ich verdorben
Herz aus Stein
Wenn die Turmuhr schlägt
Und sich der Nebel legt
Aus dem sich ein Stein erhebt
Auf dem mein Name steht
Den nur das Moos belebt
Und seh', wie die Erde bebt
Wird Fleisch zu Stein
Gezeiten heilten nicht die Wunden
Gehe meinen Weg allein
Und wieder hasse ich die Stunden
Herz aus Stein
Erzeugte großes Leid mit Folgen
Verbleites Blut schoss ins Gebein
Zerstörtes kann man nicht vergolden
Herz aus Stein

There are a few small mistakes in the lyrics:

'Erzeugte grosses leid mit Folgen' -> 'Erzeugte großes Leid mit Folgen'

'Verbleiter Blut schoss in Gebein' -> 'Verbleites Blut schoss ins Gebein'

'Zerstörtes kann man nicht Vergolden' -> 'vergolden' is not capitalized

I noticed Heldmaschinisten has some grammar and punctuation errors, but it's the only site where I could find lyrics for this album.

caillean7caillean7    śr., 09/04/2014 - 21:34

I listened to the song on YouTube, that's what I heard and also what would be grammatically right. I didn't find the lyrics on the web, although I didn't spend much time searching Regular smile

I'm just glad someone was willing to translate this. Thank you for your time, friend!

caillean7caillean7    śr., 09/04/2014 - 21:40

You're welcome - but why wouldn't someone want to translate this? Because it's Metal?

Nemo ThatchNemo Thatch    śr., 09/04/2014 - 21:59

Ha. It is a rather disliked genre these days, regrettably. But no. Heldmaschine started off as Völkerball: A Tribute to Rammstein, but as we all know, people generally don't care about their cover bands. In 2012-2013, they started doing their own work and renamed themselves as Heldmaschine, so that if someone looked them up, they wouldn't find Rammstein's DVD. But they're still a new band, and they're clearly not very well-known. Which is unfortunate, because I absolutely love this band. It sounds like a cross between Rammstein and Eisbrecher, in a way.

caillean7caillean7    śr., 09/04/2014 - 22:05

Yeah, never heard of them. And I googled / checked for a description on last.fm, and it really didn't turn up much. Anyway, I'm fine with all Metal, as long as it doesn't come from the far right department. It's easier and better to translate stuff that actually means something to you

Nemo ThatchNemo Thatch    śr., 09/04/2014 - 22:29

I think we'd all like to avoid the far right whenever we can. And while I agree with you, music performed in English doesn't normally appeal much to me. The Germans have a wonderful way of phrasing things, really. Regrettably, my high school only offered Spanish, and I can't afford further education.

caillean7caillean7    śr., 09/04/2014 - 22:47

That's why I checked the band. So you're from the US? Are you here to learn German? Seems a lot of people discovered music as a way to learn a language Regular smile It really sucks when education is hindered by financial limitations.

Nemo ThatchNemo Thatch    śr., 09/04/2014 - 23:28

I'm as American as American gets: I'm poor, I don't eat right, and I can't speak another language very well. I've been trying to teach myself German for the past three years, doch meine Deutsch nleibt unperfekt. And are you German, friend?

caillean7caillean7    czw., 10/04/2014 - 08:52

Yep, I am a native speaker and I also live in Germany. It's hard if you're on your own with learning, and German isn't easy, I guess. Well, if you want to work on it, perhaps by translating German songs into English here, let me know if you need help - proofreading or explanations.

Nemo ThatchNemo Thatch    czw., 10/04/2014 - 15:51

Well, I would certainly appreciate that, friend. I generally don't go farther than a sentance or two, though; one word or rule at a time, yes?

caillean7caillean7    czw., 10/04/2014 - 16:12

Alright. And your requests were almost completed, well, except for 'Propaganda'. Perhaps it's a good idea to ask in the forum for someone to identify the language.

Nemo ThatchNemo Thatch    czw., 10/04/2014 - 16:18

Yeah, I noticed. I love this site. :p I'll ask around in the forums and see if anyone can identify it. Meanwhile, can I ask for something else from you, sir? I uploaded Weiter! qrong and just corrected the German lyrics, but I need someone to redo the English translation. Would you mind taking a look?

caillean7caillean7    czw., 10/04/2014 - 17:09

Sir?! I'm a ma'am if you please Teeth smile I would, but I can't edit other people's translations. You should leave a comment or pm the translator. I think she's online here frequently, just saw her this afternoon.

Nemo ThatchNemo Thatch    czw., 10/04/2014 - 18:09

Ma'am? I apologize, then. Caillean isn't an especially common name out here.

And yes, that's true, but one can upload a second translation. And I can't seem to PM anybody on this account. I guess it needs to be around longer or something. In any case, I wasn't able to PM her. I tried email, but that hasn't gotten a reply.

caillean7caillean7    czw., 10/04/2014 - 18:30

Perhaps you can only send a PM after you contributed to the site because of those spammers. You can also leave a comment with the translation, then the author will receive a notification. Give her some time to react, please. It might be unfair towards her to just add a new translation now. I'll do it if the existing one isn't updated in a day or two.

Nemo ThatchNemo Thatch    czw., 10/04/2014 - 18:41

Can't say I agree with that, seeing as I can only speak one language. Frankly, I joined because there were songs that I wanted to find translations for and couldn't. But screw it, it is what it is. I'll leave a comment on the translation if I can and I'll see what happens. Thanks for putting up with my ignorant ass, ma'am. I'm still not 100% sure how to use this site.

But be prepared for more. So I go to the Heldmaschine page, scroll down to Weiter!, click "English," and just comment? Still not sure what I'm doing here. Confused smile

caillean7caillean7    czw., 10/04/2014 - 18:49

Sorry, I meant no offense. I just suggested to be a bit more patient. This is no commercial translation service or something like that, people don't get paid, they're translating songs in their free time. Sometimes you might have bad luck and wait for a translation a week or two.

Nemo ThatchNemo Thatch    czw., 10/04/2014 - 19:05

None taken. I understand that people are translating for fun; that's part of why I like this site (that, and I couldn't afford to pay for a translator. :p) I just like to make sure things are in order; if one thing's changed, I like to make sure everything else is changed to match. I like to think that everybody's got OCD to some extent, but I might be wrong. But whatever. I've got nothing but free time these days, so I guess I get to hone my understanding of patience. And the Internet's good for conversation, if nothing else. Frankly, I've always wanted to actually tslk to someone who's German, so this has been interesting.

caillean7caillean7    czw., 10/04/2014 - 19:24

Alright Regular smile I see you left a comment for Erdbeere, and I'm sure she'll update her translation asap. Well, it's always hard to wait if you want something really bad. As for the talking, anytime. Oh, and before I forget, please feel free to post corrections on those Heldmaschine translations I did, if there are grammar errors or bad wording or something like that.

Nemo ThatchNemo Thatch    czw., 10/04/2014 - 20:50

One can hope. And you're right: a day can feel like a week if you're waiting for something. Perfect example: Destiny comes out in September, and it feels like it's five years away rather than five months. I'll let you know if I notice anything, but, again, my knowledge of German isn't especially advanced.
