Komentarze
The established translation of this exceptionally popular quote seems to be:
All Gaul is divided into three parts, one of which the Belgae inhabit, the Aquitani another, those who in their own language are called Celts, in ours Gauls, the third.
Hail, Caesar, those who are about to die greet you.
For modernisation purposes, my take would be:
Galia in its entirety is split in three
First are the Belgae, then Aquitani
Those who call themselves Celts
We refer to as the Gaul
Hail, Caesar, from those going to die: salutes.
To preempt any suggestions: I am not going to update the translation I posted with translated Latin. It's there for a reason.
