Marjolaine (tłumaczenie na angielski)
tłumaczenie na angielskiangielski
A
A
Marjory
In a street full of fog
A stranger with his guitar
Sang, sang a song
That two other fellows repeated it:
Marjory1, you're so pretty
Marjory, the spring blossoms
Marjory, I was soldier
But today I return to you
She had said: "I will wait for you"
He had said: "I will come back"
He left still a child
He returned as a man now
Marjory, you're so pretty
Marjory, the spring blossoms
Marjory, I was soldier
But today I return to you
He was away for ten years
But the ten years changed everything
Nothing is the same in the streets
Apart from the sky, he din't recognize anything
Marjory, you're so pretty
Marjory, the spring is over
Marjory, I know very well
The lost love never comes back
A stranger and his guitar
They dissapeared in the fog
And with him his fellows
left taking their songs with them:
Marjory, you're so pretty
Marjory, the spring blossoms
Marjory, I was soldier
But today I return to you
Marjory, Marjory, Marjory

Moje komentarze

Dear Korina,
It is true that marjoram is a plant and spice, but here Marjolaine is a girl's name.
You have to find an English suitable name; otherwise I propose Marjory, or Marjorie.
Marjolaine is a nice French song, isn't it?
Valery

Hello Korina, please accept few more lines.
L'était parti encore enfant > (They were kids though) ???
Means : Il était parti encore enfant
In English: He left (being) still a child
Qu'amour perdu plus jamais ne revient > (That love is lost and it will never come back)???
I suggest: That lost love never comes back
Sont repartis emportant leurs chansons > left TAKING their songs with THEM
Marjory, marjory, marjory > Marjory, Marjory, Marjory
Good luck!
Vale

Hello
Nice translation, I just spotted a few mistakes.
"At a street full of fog" --> 'in a...'
"Sings, sings a song
That two other fellows repeat it:" --> The original lyrics are in the past tense, so maybe 'Sang, sang a song,
That two other fellows repeated'
"L'était parti pour dix années
Mais dix années ont tout changé" --> 'dix' means 'ten'
"Nothing is the same at the streets" --> 'in the...'
"À par le ciel, il n'a rien reconnu" --> Except for the sky, he didn't recognize anything
"Sont repartis emportant leurs chansons" --> Left with their songs
