I Don't Have A Childhood Hero

I changed my last name back to my dad's
When my stepfather told me I wasn't his daughter
Six years old, waiting for my brothers to come home from school all day
Agnetha thanked music in the song1

My brothers were dragged off to the town hall
I offer Paavo2 a Pectus3
I was left to play with their Atari
Since I was left home alone again

Under our skin, there's lizard green
I look at the stars from behind the dog kennels

My teeth are red from a color tablet
Tearing off my own face from photographs
And when I can't stand reality
I fall asleep in the closet
I'm there inventing a new world
And I wake up in the morning to noises

When we play house, I'm the family dog
The wonder baby, the magic boy
When we graduate, I'm Santa4
And working at other people's parties5
I've believed in God
And fucked my cousin
With both of them we told each other
That this probably won't continue

Oh
My songs
Fly away from here
Oh
Continue somewhere
After I die

Pictures of pop stars
I don't remember Tiina Lillak6
I'm no warrior
I don't have a childhood hero
Drinking storebought alcohol before hitting the bar
And I'm no warrior
I don't have a childhood hero

Twelve years old, having a stomach lavage
I learned that you probably shouldn't drink this much
"Girls don't behave like that"
They said to me in school
Patterns of the pinewood panel
Form magical animals

Of course I make some parenting mistakes
Even though I treat my little brothers with love
For example that time I let them watch The Blair Witch Project
When they were way too young
Look, mom
After all this, I left looking like this
The same fucking brat
Yeah, that's just me

Oh
Continue somewhere
After I die

Pictures of pop stars
I don't remember Tiina Lillak6
I'm no warrior
I don't have a childhood hero
Storebought alcohol before hitting the bar
And I'm no warrior
I don't have a childhood hero

Thanks for the translation! As for "Vedän autoissa pohjia", Finnish wiktionary mentions that 'vetää' is slang for having sex. Perhaps she's singing that she has 'sex in the backseat of cars'. :S And as for 'Takapenkillä pohjia', could it mean 'in the backseat'?

"Vetää pohjia" means drinking some (store-bought) alcohol before going to a bar. At least that is what it meant in my youth in Vantaa.
