Lounatuulen laulu

Lounatuuli tuo pienen laulun
Kenelle tuuli kertoo sen?
Niille joilla on nauravat korvat
ja joilla silmät on lapsien

Selässä lounatuulen ajaa
viiriäiset ja varpuset,
kun tuuli ylittää tuhat rajaa
sylissään hilpeät sävelet

Sillä on pitkä sininen tukka
ja viikset auringonsäteistä
Sillä on hampaissaan kanelinkukka
ja siivet on pilvenhöyhentä

Mitä se lounatuuli itkee?
Se itkee mustia kaupunkeja
Se suree viivasuoria suita
ja nälkäisiä lapsia

Mitä se lounatuuli nauraa?
Se nauraa jos joku on iloinen
Se nauraa kun hyvän kaverin löytää
lohikäärmeen tai ihmisen

Lounatuuli tietää
että kiinassa lohikäärmeitten on maa
Siellä lohikäärmeet tanssii polkkaa
ja nauraa ja narua hypätä saa

Siellä tuhat silkki-ikkunaa
katsoo kun maljoja kohottaa
tuhat lohikäärmettä nauravaa

Ja kanelinkukkia varistaa
puu polulle jolla vaeltaa
neiti käärme silmissä hopeaa
neiti vihreitä korviaan heiluttaa
juo omenaviiniä makeaa
Taas mitä se neiti kuulostaa?

Lohikäärme nimeltä Anselmus
on neidin uusin ihastus.

The Song of the Southwest Wind

The southwest wind brings a little song
With who the wind will share it with?
With those who have laughing ears
and the eyes of children

On the back of the southwest wind travel
quails and sparrows
when the wind crosses thousand borders
with joyful melodies on its lap

It has a long blue hair
and a moustache made of sun beams
It has a cinnamon flower between its teeth
and wings made of cloud feathers

Why does the southwest wind cry?
It cries for black cities
It mourns for serious mouths
and for hungry children

Why does the southwest wind laugh?
It laughs if someone is happy
It laughs when someone finds a good friend
a dragon or a human

The southwest wind knows
that China is the land of dragons
There dragons dance polka
and laugh and jump rope

There thousand silk windows
watch when the toasts are raised by
thousand laughing dragons

And a tree sheds cinnamon flowers
to the pathway where walks
a silver-eyed lady dragon
lady waves her green ears
drinks sweet apple wine
How is the lady doing?

A dragon named Anselmus
is the lady's latest crush.
