Just a Romance

You came close to me
And began your story
Told me your name
I wish I could forget it – could forget it

Your words, like a soft touch
So remarkably unreal
My hands are safe in yours
I feel at home – feel at home

You came close to me
And began your story
Told me your name
I wish I could forget it – could forget it

But for you it was just a romance
(I’m, I’m deceived)
Like a chromed nickel
(I’m, I’m deceived)
Painted with black ink
Placed in my hands
(In my hands)
To you it was just a romance
(I’m, I’m Deceived)
Like a chromed nickel
(I’m, I’m Deceived)
Written with black ink
Deep In your eyes
(Eyes)

You asked if I would stay
You said you’d stay with me
My home is always yours
Just come into my hugs – into my hugs

You wrote to me late
You were distant with your thoughts
You forgot my name
To conceal the other women – other women

But to you it was just a romance
(I’m, I’m deceived)
Like a chromed nickel
(I’m, I’m deceived)
Painted with black ink
Placed in my hands
(My hands)
To you it was just a romance
(I’m, I’m Deceived)
Like a chromed nickel
(I’m, I’m Deceived)
Written with black ink
Deep In your eyes
(Eyes)

"I remember perfectly how you looked on me, it seemed to me that it couldn’t have been more truthful and realistic.
Your eyes, words, hands, lips, plans about us, when, that, what and how...
I soar...that feeling when you realise - I HAVE IT! It can't be told, you simply know - it's yours, yours that you have searched so long for and found!"

But to you it was just a romance
(I’m I’m deceived)
Like a chromed nickel
(I’m I’m deceived)
Painted with black ink
Placed in my hands
(My hands)
To you it was just a romance
(I’m I’m Deceived)
Like a chromed nickel
I’m I’m Deceived)
Written with black ink
Deep In your eyes
(Eyes)

I’m I’m deceived
I’m I’m deceived
Romance
I’m I’m deceived
I’m I’m deceived

Please arrange your translation according to verses in original so that it would be intelligible for everyone.

Thank you! :)

As for translation.

Why Man, man māns is translated as I'm, I'm deceived? She's not singing/saying that she was deceived....at least not directly. She's singing/saying that for her it was something which wasn't real.

Māns means something which isn't real, true etc. Man means to me or for me. (It depends from the sentence.) I'm means es esmu although you can simply say esmu because in this case conjugation already points out which personal pronoun is meant there.

I have the same question about Deep in your eyes. In lyrics there's simply tavās acīs which means in your eyes yet it's translated as deep in your eyes which in Latvian would be dziļi tavās acīs.

And the same question also goes for placed in my hands. Why you translated manās plaukstās as placed in my hands when actually it means in my hands?

Acīs means in the eyes not eyes. Eyes in Latvian means acis. Just a suggestion but next time be careful because this (despite that it's a small difference) can change the entire conjugation of the word. The same is with Plaukstās. Literally it means in hands not my hands. My hands means manas plaukstas. In this case you could also say in my hands.

Es tik labi atceros, kā tu uz mani skatījies ---> I remember perfectly how you looked on me

Oh, I tried to make it sound better for people that may sing it in english, I know it's not an exact translation, but more one that makes more sense to the english readers. I can try and improve how I interpreted it if you want? I'll change the things that give it a different meaning first though.
It's a very helpful explanation so thank you very much!

Hmm! If you wanted to make it sound better for those who may sing it in English then perhaps you should leave it as it is (or improve it if you think that's necessary) and add explanations that it's not an exact translation but a translation which is made for those who may sing it in English. Makes more sense? Did I made mistakes somewhere in my English translation of this song? If so then please don't hesitate to tell me! This goes for every translation I've made not just for the translation of this song.

You're welcome! I'm glad I could give you a helpful explanation.

I think that your translation was good! The reason I added mine was because yours was more word for word which directly translates it, but in terms of how singable it is in english it sometimes wouldn't work or rhyme. I didn't want to edit yours because it was a correct direct translation but I made a version that was more smooth in english if that makes sense? I'm only new to Lyrics Translate, but if that's wrong to do that please tell me! :))

I'm happy to hear that my translation was good. However if you find any mistakes in other translations (which I've made) then please don't hesitate to tell me. Unfortunately I'm not good with making translations which are singable which is why I'm making only direct translations or as direct as possible.

I think the only thing you need to do here is to add translation tag from that list and if I'm correct then once you've added it and saved changes the message with an explanation that deviations from the original are present should appear automatically. If that doesn't happen then you should add it manually. It's just my opinion.

To add translation tag you have to click edit button in your translation and then go to translation tags and choose the ones which fits the best for your translation. I'm just saying this in case if you didn't know how to add translation tag.

I don't see anything wrong in the fact that you wanted to add a translation which is more singable. In fact I've seen other users making such translations.

It's ok! Thank you so much :)! I'll add the translation tag now.
