I'm here to learn from and help others in a respectful manner. I love real people and the way they communicate their thoughts, feelings... ideas and ideals. At this time; colloquialisms, slang, dialects, idioms and colorful expressions interest me more than so called "proper speech". However, I do acknowledge that language is and should continue to be primarily a means of communication and mutual understanding between individuals. I have nothing against proper grammar or dictionary definitions.
I define "fluent" in a language, as the ability to understand and communicate almost any thought, feeling or idea well without any outside help. "Fluent" and "well" mean "intelligibly" not "perfectly".
Since one can truthfully claim to have "studied" a language after a single lesson, I see no point in listing the languages that I have "studied".
I used to be an idiot,
sure of myself and everything;
but now I am intelligent:
I know that I don't know anything.
Truth can be stranger than fiction.
I am a walking contradiction.
