• 1. There are no trains in Iceland, although there's a proposal for a light rail service in Reykjavík, named Borgarlínan, "the City Line"
• 2. Húsdýragarðurinn, literally "the Domestic Animal Garden" or "Domestic Zoo" is a zoo in Reykjavík. As the name implies, it mostly hosts a collection of Iceland's domestic animals, such as sheep, pigs and cows, but it also has other animals found in the wild in Iceland, including minks, reindeer and seals.

Public swimming pools are everywhere in Iceland and are widely used as a place to socialize and hang out, especially with the older generation but also with people of all ages, especially in summer. They also usually host the elementary schools' swimming classes, a mandatory class in Icelandic schools.

An area of Reykjavík, currently home to the city's domestic airport, although the redevelopment of this area has been a hot topic in Icelandic politics for years now, with the main issue being related to land value - it's a sizeable area of land, so many people want to build housing there and move the airport somewhere else, others want the airport to stay.
• 5. Alþingi is the house of the Icelandic parliament.
• 6. Bjarni Benediktsson, often shortened to Bjarni Ben, is a controversial Icelandic politician. Einar Benediktsson (no relation), often shortened to Einar Ben, was a beloved Icelandic poet.
• 7. Seltjarnarnes is a town that borders Reykjavík (some would argue it's part of Reykjavík, but they are their own municipality).
• 8. Hljómskálagarðurinn is a park in downtown Reykjavík, located next to the Pond, a sizeable lake in the heart of the city. To my best knowledge, access to the park is and has always been, free.
