(Wald El Ghalaba (OST))

Wald El Ghalaba (OST) [The Son of the Poor]

My father instructed me and said, "Look, I've left behind a real man."
And a man, a real man, knows how to sleep well at night
So, the essence of what I'm saying is: son, don't be unjust with people
And never let this world tempt you, nor power that has no real value
Live this life with no infidelity; never let people die so you can live
And however strong the wind is, the son of the poor never bows
And do not, someday, bend for this world, and never tilt if it does
Never tilt if it does...
Stand tall in pride like the mountains

He instructed me to live among people with my head held high
And never be afraid except of our Lord, and never bow to a human
And he instructed me to be like a balance, dealing fairly with everyone
And to return to the weak their rights from those who eat their rights
And he told me justice, however long it absents, shall return
Woe to him who oppresses; calamities will come right to his door
And he told me liars are failures; they will always be exposed
God reprieves but never neglects1; woe to oppressors and their fate
Do good and you'll receive good,
for we have, my son, an Almighty God,
who answers the supplications of the oppressed
But as for the oppressor: he will be judged with a difficult account
As long as the Lord of the people exists
Rights will surely return
So do not despair for anything
as long as you are supported by our Lord
And he told me the eldest [son] is he who lives for others' problems
He told me the eldest is a support for others, not just for show
Since young age and till he gets old, his presence creates respect
Never does he harm the weak or trample on the people
Oh, do good and you'll receive good,
for we have, my son, an Almighty God,
who answers the supplications of the oppressed
But as for the oppressor: he will be judged with a difficult account
As long as the Lord of the people exists
Rights will surely return
So do not despair for anything
as long as you are supported by our Lord

Stand tall in pride like the mountains
