Une divinité du même type existe également dans les croyances d’autres peuples africains tels ceux du Kenya, de la Tanzanie et de l’Éthiopie. Au Mozambique, l’Être suprême est connu sous le nom de Muluku.

The author based this novel sound-word on his own name, "Shigeru", and the way he mispronounced it as "Gegeru" as a toddler. The anime opening seems to have frogs singing it, and it's reminiscent of the Japane sound-word for "ribbit", "gero-gero".
