Sorry, I don't remember the title of the CD on which I first came across this song. It was an anthology of Hebrew hits from the previous fifty years or so. The song whose words I'm trying to track down is Toto Kadurregel (roughly translated as Soccer Regionals/Nationals). I have the CD but have long misplaced it in my long-protracted move into my current condo. Many of my belongings are in storage. I believe the cover cardboard in the CD case has a photo of a prickly pear on the top of a cactus.
The song has a strong 4/4 beat, almost as strong and regular as a march.
I tried in vain to find the Hebrew words on Shironet. Search results were nil.
Would be grateful for any info on the original Hebrew words to this song.
Thanks in advance. Choirmistress6

Why yes, Moshe, I believe this is the very song. The beat, the rhythm, and the repetition of the word "Toto" at the beginning of several consecutive lines are a giveaway. The CD on which I have it was very eclectic, comprising hits from different years by different artists, among them "Libavtini". Now all I'm missing are the lyrics. Coincidence (if there is such a thing): I absolutely love another of the tunes by the same original lyricist, Michel Polnareff -- "Ame Caline" -- but only in the instrumental version done by pop groups shortly after his French vocal version, known in those instrumental versions as "Soul Coaxing". (I have translated "Ame Caline" into both English and Hebrew, btw.)
Any chance you have the Hebrew lyrics for Toto Kadurregel?
Thanks for posting the link so I could hear the song!

Welcome. I tried to search for them but no dice. Perhaps you can transcribe, post and translate.

All the best!

Thanks for trying, Moshe, but although I made out the beat, tempo and rhythm, I have bilateral tinnitus and cannot clearly make out any of the words except "Toto". My hearing loss is long-standing and by now severe. I need the words in front of me, either in their original Hebrew or Latinized.
If they're songs I already heard and learned years ago, I remember hundreds if not thousands of Hebrew songs, and can typeset them in either Hebrew or Latin characters. I have also translated over 80 songs to and from English, French, Hebrew and Yiddish. Most of them are on Jewish themes, particularly if they come from Hebrew prayers, but some are secular (pop, folk, etc.).
Regards and thanks again, Choirmistress6
BTW, love your screen name. Rodef Shalva is indeed enviable.

If you fill out this form someone maybe able to find and/or transcribe it for you. I suspect there is some french intermixed with the Hebrew.

Thanks again, Moshe. Earlier today I found the double CD that I had thought was from 50 years' worth of Israeli music. It's only 40 years' worth, and although it has the photo of a cactus with prickly pears on top (sabras, after which native Israelis get their nickname), it is NOT the one with Toto Kadurregel (and probably Libavtini), so my search continues. I'll update this conversation as I get any results.

Sorry, Israel, no it's not. It's just the title of another song by the same name that, as far as memory serves, was on the same compilation CD as the one whose lyrics I'm looking for. The "other" Libavtini was done as a duet by a pair of singers who were called something with the Hebrew word for "pair" or "duo", and the words to that one were taken directly from Shir HaShirim. The one whose Hebrew words I'm looking for is still "Toto Kadurregel".
Thanks for trying.

It's early morning here but before I turn in for a short sleep I wanted to add that I was mistaken about the duo who sang the song I'm looking for. They're the Tzemed Darom (Darom Duo), "Darom" meaning "south".
"Toto Kadurregel" is on at least two albums apart from the compilation CD on which I first heard it, which I STILL haven't found in my storage place, nor have identified by Googling various words and phrases.
The albums on which the song is definitely a track are "Dash Im Shir Ivri" and "Ma Yesh Lecha Kazanova".
Regards to all and thanks in advance to anyone who can find me the words.

Thanks, Moshe. Yes, it is definitely the one from the Darom Duo album "Ma Yesh Lecha Kazanova". (Funny title. "What's wrong with you, Casanova?") However, again, because my hearing is so poor, I can't make out the words (except for the repeated "Toto"). I need to SEE them written out. (It doesn't even matter whether they're in Hebrew or Latinized.)
Does anyone hear have access to the album to see if there was a lyric sheet included?
Thanks in advance for any help with finding the words. I don't think I am sufficiently interested in the song to translate it myself. I'm just curious what the words are.
