Leylim ley
O que significa "Leylim ley"?
I've heard this phrase being said in some Turkish songs. I've heard it's an old Arabic term but I'm not sure what it represents? Any explanation will be welcomed, thank you!
Example from Turkish song: "Döndüm daldan kopan kuru yaprağa, leylim ley" ("I have turned into a dried leaf separated from the branch, leylim ley"
Each line of this song ends with 'leylim ley'.
Leyl means (night) in Arabic, and it's very common for Arabian singers to end their lines with (Ya Layl or Layli ya Layl) which means (Oh night o night) like someone is complaining about his issues to the night itself where no one can hear him.
Arabian singers also use the Turkish word (Aman aman) a lot at the end of lines which means (oh).
