Und was ich dann hörte, was mich total empörte,
es wiederzugeben fehlt mir fast die Kraft!
Er sagte:

[Refrain:]

Sometimes Women...

He spoke to me in a bar
He was drunk and stunk of sweat
He said:
Listen here, kid:
There's something you oughta know
[Women's] liberation is the just deserts
for the sissies of the world!
But you can trust me
There's a difference between men and women
that separates them enormously!
And I what I heard then, something that disgusted me,
I almost don't have the strength to repeat
He said:

[Rrefrain:]
Sometimes, but only sometimes,
Women enjoy a little beating.
Sometimes, but only sometimes,
Women enjoy a little beating.

I said, leave me alone, I won't listen to you anymore,
You stinking drunk macho pig.
He didn't like that, and started to grab me.
And then suddenly he gave me a clout.

He screamed, don't act so blind, you're not a child!
I'll put you down, then you'll know what I'm saying.
But instead of giving me another hit, he started to whimper
And suddenly I felt bad for him.
He started to beg, that I should finally understand
His bad breath made me sick
He said:

[Refrain]

I shoved him away and ran home
I had to tell my girlfriend about it.
I didn't leave anything out, it sputtered out of me.
The uncertainty started to torment me
That had never happened to me before, I was traumatized,
and a little curious as well.
Then she smiled and raised her knee
And rammed it with full force into my belly
As I struggled for breath and I heard her voice
There was an icey resonance to it
She said:

Sometimes, but only sometimes,
Women enjoy a little beating.
Sometimes, but only sometimes,
Women enjoy a little beating.
Always, yeah really always, guys like you
deserve to good knock on the jaw.
Always, yeah really always, guys like you
deserve to good knock on the jaw.

I have rearranged the layout of the original.

maybe:
As I was struggeling for breath I heard her voice,
And there was an icy blow about it.

Thanks,

What kind of bugged me about the first translation was that I feel like the chorus has a wordplay to it, where the meaning changes at the end: Women do like a little beating, but when the women is the one administering it. Did I get that right?

I don't see a wordplay in this.
I don't really get the joke about this song.
After all she's beating up her boyfriend, the one who tries to defend women's rights.
If she would have done that to the other guy, I'd think it would have made sense.

One way of interpreting might be that the bf WANTS to get beat up...and that the part at the end of about deserving a punch is kind of playful erotic talk. The music video for the song suggests something like that.

But I definitely agree, the song is kind of confusing.

There seem to be things in this world I'll never understand....
