Languages, translations, different cultures, traveling, seaside, beach, visiting old towns, spicy food
Favorite band: Gripin :-)
Italian: it is my native language and I speak it all the time (I studied it until my college years)
German: it‘s „almost native“ as I‘ve lived here in Germany for 24 years now :-)
English: I‘ve been using it almost all my life (and I obviously studied it too), still I‘m far from being „perfect“, there‘s a lot of new stuff coming up all the time that makes me go like „weird, never heard that word before“ :-) in any case it‘s American English.
French: It‘s one of the languages I prefer to speak and I‘m pretty fluent but I can‘t translate into French because my literary (written) French is just not good enough
Spanish: For Italians it‘s not a big deal to learn Spanish, right? :-) But we don‘t care if we speak well or not because we understand each other any way :-) Anyway I cannot translate into Spanish, only from Spanish and only easy stuff.
Dutch: I‘ve been hearing Dutch daily for over a decade at work, so one day I decided to „jump into cold water“ and started speaking, but it never became „really good“, just OK
Turkish: that is my favorite language ever, and my biggest challenge ... with age it becomes more and more difficult to learn a language but I am putting a lot of effort into it. At this stage I can say that I understand it really well and I speak like „idare eder yanı”:-)
One more thing: I translate songs only if I speak both languages, I do not translate from translations. All translations are mine. No strings attached :-) if I feel that something may be wrong I write it in the comment underneath the song.
Thanks for reading :-)
