Ucz się polskiego
Nieraz już przebyłam drogę,
od grudnia do stycznia,
a nadziwić się nie mogę,
jaka moja mowa śliczna.
Czasem uczą się polskiego
Anglicy i Szwedzi,
Zanim obywatel Chopin
zasiadł do pianina,
to mu piękniej niż w Europie
On nastroił moją lutnię,
nie wiem - po co i dlaczego.
Porzucił mnie w rozmarynie,
bo byłam nie taka,
lecz on zawsze będzie przy mnie,
bo wziął serce do plecaka.
Ucz, ucz, ucz, ucz się polskiego,
na łatwe i na trudne dni.
Cóż, cóż, cóż, cóż w tym jest złego?
Co złego to nie my, co złego to nie my.

Learn Polish
I have often crossed the road,
from December to January,
and I can not stop wondering,
how my language is beautiful.
English and Swedes
sometimes learn Polish
but they will not understand anything,
what is hidden in this language.
Learn, learn, learn, learn Polish,
for easy and difficult days.
What, what, what, what's wrong with that?
What is wrong is not us, we are not unkind.
Before the citizen Chopin
sat down to the piano,
the beetles sounded more beautiful to him
in Polish reeds than in Europe
Although all of our youth
are dancing fashionable dances,
in mid-agricultural farm
the clover is blushing.
Learn, learn, learn, learn Polish,
for easy and difficult days.
What, what, what, what's wrong with that?
What is wrong is not us, we are not unkind.
I sing lively, or sadly
- always for him (for language):
He tuned my lute,
I do not know - what for and why.
He left me in rosemary herb,
because I was not like that
but he will always be with me,
because he took my heart to his backpack.
Learn, learn, learn, learn Polish,
for easy and difficult days.
What, what, what, what's wrong with that?
What is wrong is not us, we are not unkind.

This is a very difficult text to translate into a foreign language. There are several references in it, for example to the Polish epic "Pan Tadeusz", which is written by Adam Mickiewicz in the old Polish language, at a time when Lithuania and Poland were one country. I do not know if a foreigner can understand: "Gdzie panieńskim rumieńcem dzięcielina pała" -> "Where maiden blush clover chump", because I know that 90% of Poles do not understand it, although almost all learn it by heart in a primary school. (see https://pl.wikisource.org/wiki/Litwo,_Ojczyzno_moja! )
Similarly with words: "he took my heart to his backpack", that are a reference to the text of the popular military-folk song. (See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkxrMq2jD-0 )
