Ночное | Nochnoe (traducere în Engleză)

Ночное | Nochnoe

Of nighttime

Versiuni: #1#2
I shall spread, like hundreds of roads out there,
With myself blanketing the whole wide world.
I'm searching for you... Just where are you? Where?
In response comes back the echoed silence of the wind.
By my feet sleeps the hound -
Every night he searched for her.
Moon begged us in despair
To find her prodigal daughter.
At night, when you open a window,
To the Hunting Dogs you wave.
They will show me the way, and then,
I will come to you and brave
Bringing a cluster of shimmering stars,
And beloved well used books...
When you will read this verse,
Smile for me, Joy, if only just a little bit.

I'm likely too fanciful so author may well call me out!
This is a poem from Charles (Cor Caroli = heart of Charles), to Joy (Chara), two stars in Canes Venatici (Hunting Dogs) constellation.
I wanted badly to work in the Giant Void, but you'd call it giant отсебятина...

> I'm likely too fanciful so author may well call me out!
Oh, worry not!
on the contrary, D, it's interesting and flattering to me that my lines resonate with yours thoughts) I think this is a wonderful interpretation!)
and it's great to discover something new in your own verses by reading through the eyes of someone else ♥♥♥♥♥

Классный перевод, Д. И классный оригинал, Лиз! Только не знаю, что Joy сказать 😘

I'd like for Joy to give it up. Smile that is for those Ms with vivid imagination!

Спасибо)) На LT я вспоминаю, почему же я собственно и начинала сочинять в свое время)
Просто ради интересных людей рядом)

Ну почему «сочинять»? Вы - творите
Это как художник не рисует, а пишет

LizzzardLizzzard    Luni, 02/09/2019 - 17:12

спасибо за теплые слова)
а то за бытом порой забываешь, что занимался чем то еще))

Interesting, but I didn't quite get "the Hunting Dogs". Do you mean Canis major and Canis minor?

JadisJadis    Vineri, 06/09/2019 - 19:19

OK, I was surprised because this constellation is nearly unknown, while Canis major and Canis minor are well-known and recognizeable. And « звездному псу » doesn't seem to say much about Canes Venatici. Well, I think I'm tired and won't rack my brains much more tonight...

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    Vineri, 06/09/2019 - 19:24

I had read some book where there were references to these stars so I formed the association as I tried to explain in submitter's remarks. Perhaps, I didn't do a good job. But, does it matter the technicality - did I fail to convey the feeling?

LizzzardLizzzard    Vineri, 06/09/2019 - 19:27

Jadis, D, worry not!)
I just had a "star dog" in the verse, without indicating the constellation, so I like all the interpretations)

JadisJadis    Sâmbătă, 07/09/2019 - 06:29

Ah OK, Deanna, so you re-invented the poem, all right then. Wink smile Actually, I found your version quite interesting, as I said, only I couldn't really make the link with the original... Anyway, as the WP article says, at the beginning there were nos dogs at all in that part of the sky, the dogs came only from a misinterpretation of the Arabic (and I guess that « ворох сияющих звезд » would better apply to Canis major for example (with Sirius in it, the brightest star in the sky) than to the modest stars of Hunting Dogs. But I liked this story between Cor Caroli and Joy. OK, I'll add a "like", otherwise you will send me bitter reproaches until the end of times.
(And the the sort of snake is actually indicated in my poem, it's a grass-snake - not venomous, family of the Colubridae. I somehow felt like adding something about forked tongues here, but that would probably make you burst into sobs, so I won't. Regular smile )

BlackSea4everBlackSea4ever    Sâmbătă, 07/09/2019 - 14:15

Why would I cry over you admitting something? You did mean, mon amie, that you speak with a forked tongue (we know I don't tell lies or say one thing and mean something else)? Not a tear in sight 😛
