Hi! Thanks for the translation. It's great, but has a couple of mistakes that might need corrections. Here are my suggestions:

Eu peguei um peixe vivo > I got (or grabbed) a live fish
But he ran away one time > But it swam away all at once (it's a fish, it has no legs, so it can't run away - and we can't say if it's female or male ;) )
Why did you let he run away? > Why did you let it swim away?
Because the fish bite me > Because it bit me
The one that was red > The one that god reddish

Hi Juan, and Adrian,
Certainly there are a few mistakes here but, in spite of the fact that I don't speak Portuguese, I would like to give my opinion, in regards to interpretation, judging by the English version:
1. I would say "I caught". When you go fishing, you catch.
2. I think "run away" is an expression that can be used freely (legs or not), bur I would say "got away".
3 "de una vez/one time", for me it is, "for good/once and for all".
All together:
"I caught a live fish
but it got away for good".

And there is a typo in your suggestion, "The one that god reddish" --> GOT.

This is not a Portuguese children song. This is an English children song. I don't really understand, why do someone translate song in to English language from another language, when you have already a very good original English song. One, two, three, four, five. I've caught a fish alive. Six, seven, nine, ten. Then I through them back again Why did you let them go. It's because they bit me so. Which finger did they bite, little finger on my right.

I'm afraid I don't agree with you - as we have foreign versions of movie/musical soundtracks, why can't we allow Children's songs? I mean, even if the original Portuguese lyrics are a translation of the English nursery rhyme, it's a song on its on. If this translation actually contained the lyrics to the English song, then it would be removed.

I Don't think it is a matter of removing.it. Anatoli was giving his opinion, and I agreed with him, to a certain extent.
Actually, it is a different version, an adaptation, translated into Spanish.
The comment I made was, rather, in regards to translations (from any language) translated back to the original. one.
