Come Bride

Come in peace
The crown of her husband1
With immense song and rejoice
With Faith
The Chosen Nation
Come Bride, Come Bride

Come in peace
The crown of her husband
With immense song and rejoice
With Faith
The Chosen Nation
Come Bride, Come Bride2

Oh with faith, chosen nation, come
come,
come bride
Oh with faith, chosen nation, come
come,
come bride.

(Yiddish3)
May the marriage, oh, be beautiful, be beautiful
Oh, be beautiful
Oh, be beautiful
May the marriage be beautiful, oh, be beautiful
Be beautiful, oh, be beautiful.

  • 1. The bride is the crown of her husband.
  • 2. These lyrics are from the prayer Lecha Dodi recited on Friday night. It is referring Shabbat as the bride and the one singing (the chosen nation) is greeting her. It is also traditionally sung often at weddings understanding the literal translation to be that the groom is greeting the bride.
  • 3. This added stanza is a chant of blessing to the new couple.
