The dark side of fame

Here you'll find songs that deal with the bad side of fame: reporters all around, stalkers, etc.

Acțiune

In the lyrics, Alanis makes references to her drinking problem and attributes them to the music industry, which she even calls 'sick'.

It's not been confirmed yet if the song talks about fame, however, it can be interpreted that Alanis is talking about how looks can be deceiving when she leaves the stage and is alone with other people.

3. Mariah Carey - Obsessed Engleză

Music video shows a person that was obsessed with Mariah, being killed by a bus in the end. It's been supposed that this stalker is a reference to rapper Eminem, who claims to have dated Mariah for a while.

Song lyrics and music video make reference to legal troubles and tabloid stories that haunted Jackson prior to his death. First two verses represent it well: Everybody wanting a piece of Michael Jackson / Reporters stalking the moves of Michael Jackson.

This song is a response to tabloids and rumors regarding Jackson that arose after 1985, which gave him the moniker 'Wacko Jacko'. The music video even shows a picture of The Elephant Man (Joseph Merrick) dancing with Michael - it was even said that Michael wanted to buy Merrick's bones.

Lyrics talk about someone who wanted to be famous but then knew the bad side of fame, ultimately dying.

Traduceri:  Germană, Portugheză

The general idea is that fame is not what it's cracked up to be.

Pierre, I am still waiting for your response.

How do you think, this song fits collection or not?

Oops... Err... Well... It's about taking revenge on paparazzi by cuckolding them, so I'd say the answer could be yes. Juan would be the best judge of whether it fits or not, but we'd need an English version.

You took the words out of my mouth, my friend :P I unfortunately don't speak French to a level that makes me understand the lyrics without a translation, but if for you, a native, it fits, then it goes here ;)

Yeh, I also thought of this one, but does she really talk about fame? I interpret this song as someone having an unrequited, obsessive love towards someone, following them wherever they go, but not necessarily related to fame.

I think it's definetely related to fame, it's just not the famous person complaining but the person doing the following etc. is describing how they feel.
So it's about the bad side of fame, but from a different point of view.

Maybe it doesn'[t belong here
