Sorry if this is unrealistic but I think sometimes voting buttons might be fun or even useful on this site.

MS Outlook has a way to set up voting buttons when you send a distribution email.

But I'm thinking of voting buttons in public comments or forums.

It's probably too much to ask for, but I thought I'd throw it up into the air to see how it lands.

I'd understand a voting button on translation (maybe to replace the already existing rating system?), but why d'you think it would be useful for comments and forum threads? To make people understand whether an opinion is popular or not? How should they work and what for?

I think they're referring to "voting" as a poll with several options as answer, such as StrawPoll, even though I'm not sure.

Sorry friends, somehow I missed the notifications of your replies.

Yes, that's what I mean.

What started the idea was that I wanted a man-only vote. Press button 1 if you think this song is unrealistic fantasy/infatuation/what women want to hear, but press 2 if you think it is a realistic description of a man who loves a woman.

Or let's say a line in a song is hard to hear, but you've narrowed a word down to two most likely options. People could vote for option 1 or 2.

Maybe it's not a good idea. Just wanted to throw it in the air to see how it lands. Maybe I'm the only subscriber who would use it. My mind is wired to Microsoft features because I've used them oh-so-many times.
