Las mañanas de Hidalgo
A las seis, a Guadalupe,
por las calles de Cifuentes,
llegaron el Cura Hidalgo
y su tropa de insurgentes. (x2)
¿Qué harán esos gachupines,
mercaderes y mineros,
con Hidalgo y con Iriarte
que son hombres justicieros? (x2)
Hay fogatas en la plaza
y en los cerros guarniciones,
Hidalgo esta con Zaldúa,
y hay jefes en los mesones. (x2)
¡Pobrecitos gachupines,
les quitaron todo el oro!
No pasará eso a Zaldúa,
porque Zaldúa es muy zorro. (x2)
¿Por qué tendrá Hidalgo escolta,
si es valiente y es guerrero?
-No lo sabe ni la tropa,
Contimás el pozolero. (x2)
¡Arriba Miguel Hidalgo
que ha llegado a nuestra tierra,
que ha matado gachupines
y que les hace la guerra! (x2)

Traducere
The morning of Hidalgo*
At six o'clock to Guadalupe
through the streets of Cifuentes
came Father Hidalgo1
and his troop of insurgents.
What will those Spaniards2,
merchants and miners do
with Hidalgo and Iriarte3;
who are righteous men?
There's bonfires in the square
and there's garrisons on the hills,
Hidalgo is with Zaldúa
and the leaders are in the inns.
Poor little Spaniards,
they'll take all their gold away!
the same won't happen to Zaldúa
because Zaldúa is too much of a fox.
Why does Hidalgo have a shooting guard
if he's a courageous man and a warrior?
- not even the troop knows,
much less does the executioner.
Long live Miguel Hidalgo!
who has come to our land,
who has killed the Spaniards
and has declared war against them!
