Ci andremo ancora dove vuoi

Dove sei? Cosa fai?

Ci andremo ancora dove vuoi
Ti amerò da pazzo, sai
E il tempo indietro andrà
Ci sarà
Un sole che ci brucerà
Anche se estate non è

The San Martino summer

You know, I never was as happy as that morning
We were walking on a beach that was very alike to this one
It was autumn, but it was such a beautiful day
A season that lasts for very few days only
That you called " the San Martino summer"
But it was simply our summer
You seemed, against the light, a watercolor by Marie Laurencin
And I remember, yes
I remember well What I told you that night
It was a year ago. A century. An eternity.

Whenever you want
We'll go again where you want
I'll love you madly, you know
And the time will go back
There will be a sun that will burn
Even if there will be no more summer

Now I am far away from that autumn summer morning
But I think only of you, always of you
Where are you? What are you doing? Do I still exist for you?
I'm looking at that wave that will never reach the shore
I'm like that wave, you know. I go and come back
I am here, lying on the sand
And I remember the high seas, the sun and the happiness inside us
It was a year ago. A century. An eternity.

Whenever you want
We'll go again where you want
I'll love you madly, you know
And the time will go back
There will be a sun that will burn us
Even if there will be no more summer

Thanks, Alexandru, for this great translation! I really helps me in my comparison process ^^

Some thoughts post-reading:
There will be a sun that will burn / Even if there will be no more summer > There will be a sun that burns / Even if there is no more summer ?
And I remember the high ses > And I remember the high seas (typo)

Thanks again,
- Torp

Hi Torpedo,
Future vs. present: "Even if there will be no more summer": Not now, not ever, never. I still think the future is better, but...
Seas, of course.
Thanks for the thanks :-) At your service.
What are you comparing?

Hello again (:
Yes, I noticed the verb tense in the Italian text, but found that the double use of the future tense in the English translation sounded a bit redundant and odd to the ear - that might simply be a personal feeling though.
Oh, I was trying to compare this text (in Italian) with the French (https://lyricstranslate.com/en/Joe-Dassin-Lete-indien-lyrics.html), the English (https://lyricstranslate.com/en/joe-dassin-indian-summer-lyrics.html), and the German (https://lyricstranslate.com/en/joe-dassin-septemberwind-lyrics.html) adaptations, and also with the English original (https://lyricstranslate.com/en/toto-cutugno-africa-lyrics.html) - quite a task! (Without taking into account several other adaptations, including the Russian one: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/valery-obodzinsky-%D0%B3%D0%B4%D0%B5-%D0%...)
