Dreary days in a patterned procession
Foreshadower of another impending autumn
The changeling represents the year's age
The colourations that give way
To frigid winds, the bleakness of winter
The snowy hawk that soars the winter skies
Putting all that is living to rest
Beneath a blanket insulated with leaves
And covered with a constant dynamic of purity
Where all lie resting gathering strength
The time when all that is fresh and fragile
Lies tucked away in unrevealed anticipation
Or in giving benevolence for what will be
The wonder again of simple living
And recreation in Spring duplicating
The seasons cycles flow forward unimpeded
They sustain the wonderment of life
The essential appreciation of its span
Rejuvenating and reclaiming all
Declaring what was and what will be
