Chanson d'automne

Les sanglots longs
Des violons
De l'automne
Blessent mon cœur
D'une langueur
Tout suffocant
Et blême, quand
Sonne l'heure,
Je me souviens
Des jours anciens
Et je pleure.
Et je m'en vais
Au vent mauvais,
Qui m'emporte,
Deçà, delà,
Pareil à la
Feuille morte. (×2)

Autumn Song

The long sobs
of the violins
in autumn
wound my heart
with a monotonous
All choking
and wan, when
the hour comes,
I remember
the days of yore
and I weep.
And off I go
in the rough wind
which sweeps me away
here and there
like a1
dead leaf. (x2)

Ouch! You are absolutely right:- remember isn't reflexive in English, and "se souvenir" is French for "remember" and is reflexive.
