Georges Brassens - Chanson d'automne

Французский
A A

Chanson d'automne

Les sanglots longs
Des violons
De l'automne
Blessent mon cœur
D'une langueur
Monotone.

Tout suffocant
Et blême, quand
Sonne l'heure,
Je me souviens
Des jours anciens
Et je pleure.

Et je m'en vais
Au vent mauvais,
Qui m'emporte,
Deçà, delà,
Pareil à la
Feuille morte. (×2)

It's a bit careless not to mention the composer of the tune, Charles Trenet, who set Verlaine's verse to music in 1941. His melody was accompanied by his swing band music, and both Brassens and Ferré used Trenet's melody but replaced his swing accompaniment by guitar accompaniement (I don't know which of Brassens and Ferré picked up Trenet's melody first). Naming Brassens as the artist with no mention of Trenet is likely to mislead people into believing that Brassens composed the melody, so a submitter's comment stating that the melody is by Trenet would be appropriate.
