Vida

Entre mis manos cogí
un puñadito de tierra.
Soplaba el viento terrero,
la tierra volvió a la tierra.

Entre tus manos me tienes,
tierra soy.
El viento orea
tus dedos, largos de siglos.

Y el puñadito de arena
- grano a grano, grano a grano -
el gran viento se lo lleva.

Перевод

Life

Between my hands I caught
a handful of earth.
The terrestrial wind blew,
the earth returned to the earth.

You have me between your hands,
I'm earth.
The wind blows
your fingers, over the course of centuries.

And the handful of sand
- grain by grain, grain by grain -
is carried away by the great wind.

Thank you cosenza for the English translation.
You master the language, I am sure.
But I think you have missed the point of this little poem.
My suggestions:
We are earth, or made of earth. And we return to earth.
Four times this word is in the first stanza:
Entre mis manos cogí
un puñadito de TIERRA.
Soplaba el viento TERRERO,
la TIERRA volvió a la TIERRA.

Entre tus manos > between your fingers

largo means long (in English)

Excuse me, but I don't understand your comments:
всё что ни делается - всё к лучшему
you can't spell "american dream" without eric andre in the middle

Who is eric andre and how is he related to our song?
Best regards.

Got it! For some reason I was a bit weary in using the word "earth", but now I get that it feels much better. I fixed the between your fingers part, though I'm pretty sure that the expression "largos de siglos" means "over/through/over the course centuries." Also, those aren't comments, I had put in my profile to put it as a signature at the end of any translation that I post. Does it show up as a comment for you?
