в мире мертвых скал -> I vote for "peace", given the context. There is an opposition between the quiet landscape and the violent feelings. Besides, "мир скал" would mean "a world that belongs to cliffs", not "a world made of/consisting of cliffs".
I think both could be meant. "Welt der Felsen" means "world that belongs to cliffs", not "world made of/consisting of cliffs"
Не ставший жертвой... -> more like "without becoming the victim...". But maybe your German sentence says just that.
No, the german sentence means something like "don't let yourself become the victim". So, ставший means "becoming"? My Russian has become a bit rusty, and I can't find the expression "ставший" in a dictionary, but it seems to be an adjective made from the word стать or something like that.
I'll change my translation to what you wrote.
Жизнь во сне померкнет / В царство Мары сгинем мы -> these sentences are in the future tense ([if] we live in dreams we will die / we'll disappear in the realm of Mara)
How is that future tense? According two my (veeery old) dictionary, померкнет is present tense of померкнуть, and сгинем present tense of сгинуть.
And I also don't understand your translation to "[if] we live in dreams we will die".
I'll just translate my translation into English:
"Life is fading away inside of a dream
We disappear into the realm of Mara"
Seems to me like your translation of the first of the two lines is reeaaly free.
Горе, да болью пронзая
Гласом во синее небо
Рода пред сном восславляя
a litteral translation
"A grief, but a grief that pierces through the pain
with the voices (traveling) in the blue sky,
[this grief] praying [through voices] to Rod before [we go to] sleep."
I assume the idea is that the pain of the blood shed is offset by whatever the adoration of Rod is giving them back in return.
so maybe the "von Schmerz durchbohrt" is a bit off.
I don't understand why you translated the first line that way.
"болью" means "by pain", since "болью" is instrumental case, isn't it? So, that would make it "a grief (...) being pierced by pain", so "pain pierces through a grief", not the other way round.
About the third line, my translation means "(with the aim) to worship Rod before sleep", is that right?
There is an English summary of the song (I guess it’s written in the booklet):
‘Upon returning from a sea voyage, the warriors brave out a storm in the night which leads to a shipwreck on the reef. Wounded and freezing, the crew disembarks onto a small rocky island hoping to survive, but when they realize that they will not last out till morning, they pray to Wind-Stribog to bring the message about their death to their families and relatives. Perishing, the warriors thank Rod for the life they have been given.
“Not fallen victim to the surging water,
In the mortal fight with the wind,
Spreading hands to the skies,
You are waiting for Rod to answer.”’
