Come Tilda
1. | En stund på jorden |
2. | Goliat |
3. | Det kommer bli bra |
It what it says in Swedish, but I guess it should be alright to change it to "...where there are more people like us" since technically it's what she means, what do you think? Would i do wrong if i don't follow the lyrics literally in this case? Because it doesn't sound right in English
I like your version of translation, because the closer to literal translation (within reasonable limits), the better people can see uniqueness of song. And in lines like "Move away from here to a place where stuff like us is more" I can see irony and humour. And if it would be: "...where there are more people like us", maybe it more correct, but some originality could be lost.
And one little question: "stora havet / big ocean" Is there closer to meaning "sea" or to meaning "ocean"? I asking because I wanna translate this song from your english version to russian language, and in russian sea/ocean have different meanings.
Alright, then I will keep it the way it is. Here since "hav" is refering to "Öresund" which is partially enclosed by land I believe sea would be better to translate it with. I chose ocean because I believe it gives a sense of longing for something unreachable which I think is what the song portrays. But technically sea is a better translation
