The Difference Between You And Me

The difference between you and me
I haven't fully understood it
(you and me)
One of us knows how to hurt, the other one not that much, but...
(you and me)
It's almost a negation

I get lost on details and in the mess, you don't
I fear my past and your past but you don't
(you and me)
I'ts clear
And it seems so hard.

My life
Always makes me sleepless
It makes me see how obvious it is
The difference between you and me
And then you ask me how am I
And your smile puts away the agony and the questions
About being well or being wrong, to torture me to ask me "why"

The difference between you and me
How are you?
Fine
How am I?
Dunno
(you and me)
One of us laugh of himself, the other one cries for what he is not
And I think that's a mistake

Ah, I have many doubts, a beer and few friends
You have many questions, some of them dreadful, let me tell you
(you and me)
It's elementary
Dont wan't to get out of here

My life
Always makes me sleepless
It makes me see how obvious it is
The difference between you and me
And then you ask me how am I
And your smile puts away the agony and the questions
About being well or being wrong, to torture me to ask me "why"

If my life could be restarted from time to time
The uselessness of this insecurity
I wouldn't tell you about it
But if on a fine day I were leaning out to see the life
All the the sadness were already gone
I would come to you

And then you ask me how am I
And your smile puts away the agony and the questions
About being well or being wrong, to torture me to ask me "why"
The difference between you and me
How are you?
Fine
How am I?
Dunno
(you and me)
One of us laugh of himself, the othe one cries for what he is not
And I think its beautiful
And I think its beautiful

I think that the word "pinta" in this context means beer, as you have translated it. But also in english "a pint" can mean "a beer" and I would translate this sentence so: "Ah, I have many doubts, a pint and some friends." In any case, both "a pint" and "a beer" are correct, but "molte" means "many", not "too many".

More corrections:

"I haven't completely grasp it yet"-grammatically correct sentence is "I haven't completely grasped it yet."
But there is no word in the original sentence ("Non l'ho capita fino in fondo veramente bene") that means "yet", so that "yet" is excessive. It is also possible to tranlsate this sentence:"I have not fully understood it" or "I have not truly understood it" etc.

"I get lost on details and in the mess but you don't" ("Io mi perdo nei dettagli, nei disordini, tu no")-Correct is "in the details" and "but" is excessive.

"I fear both my past..." "both" is excessive.

"I'ts clear
But its seems so hard." ("E' così chiaro
E sembra difficile.") Correct is: "It is so clear and it seems hard"

"And your smile vanishes the agony..."
"(E il tuo sorriso spegne i tormenti..") - "spegne" can be translated in several ways, for example "puts out" or "extinguishes", but "vanishes" is uncorrect in this context.

"the torture of wandering why" (a torturarmi, a chiedermi: "Perché" ?) Notice the comma!-"to torture me, to ask me "Why"

And some more corrections...

"You make too many questions..." (Tu hai molte domande...")- "You have many questions..."

"But if on a fine morning, leaning out to see the life
I would find that all sadness is gone
I would want you here with me?" (Ma se un bel giorno affacciandomi alla vita
Tutta la tristezza fosse già finita
Io verrei da te.) -"But if on a fine day I were leaning out to see the life
All the the sadness were already gone
I would come to you." It is a conditional sentence...(But I'm not sure if my translation of this phrase is grammatically correct!)

natrive, I really hope that you are not discouraged by all these corrections :D I think that you can become a very good translator, but you really have to pay more attention to the text that you are translating. Otherwise you finish up doing a lot of "improvements" to the original text :D
Good luck with translating and...take your time!

Sure it's not discouraging, since is a way I found to learn a little more of english. Thanks for your help. Anyway I changed my way to put phrases too literally, cause they made no sense when I presented them to a native english talker. Then sometimes I added or changeed some particles ("and" or "then") in order to make it smoother. Sure I have a problem with verbs conjugations. But this time I focused on what he meant by that certain phrase, and trying to put it on english. The thing is that taking a text from italian to spanish and then to english I did leave a trace of mistakes... >_> But I'll try to improve, for sure. Or maybe I'll stick to spanish / english - spanish / italian. I'd hate to dont make justice on Tiziano's lyrics.
