Woman, I do everything for you
Roses, willowherbs and a thistle
Gentle dandelions from alongside the road
Petunias from the yard and restraining orchids
Here's a veggie, an asparagus
You're beautiful, only a foal
I'm as old and hot as the sun
I'm burning up in the sky, UV
I had to prolong the morning
A beautiful thought is ruined by intoxication
I might waddle up to a wrong door
But I'll always return, oh yeah
I will sleep on the flower shop's doorstep
Hair's on fleek, I've lived long
You'll later understand what life is, I'm singing about life
But you don't want to hear that ballad
I will bring other feeds too than only moss
Open the love's door
Let's not reminisce what was before
Woman, I do everything for you
Roses, willowherbs and a thistle
Gentle dandelions from alongside the road
Petunias from the yard and restraining orchids
The mouth is full of lies
I will sneak back home so that wife won't see me
I'll make a spear out of alder, I shot past
Cross my heart and hope to die
Now the night routines must come to an end
As a bee, I'll fly back into your flower
And fall asleep in your gentle arms
Here's a joke from Heikki that he quotes on Facebook
I count on Jack Daniels
Other friends only make my blood boil
It's never too late to give up on them
But I won't leave you even if the key doesn't fit
And there's a strong lock on your door
I hear the sirens, you called the police
But I have a strong faith in us
Woman, I do everything for you (everything)
Roses, willowherbs and a thistle
Gentle dandelions from alongside the road
Petunias from the yard and restraining orchids
Woman, I do everything for you (everything)
Roses, willowherbs and a thistle
Gentle dandelions from alongside the road
Petunias from the yard and restraining orchids
Wow, this song was literally full of puns, words and things I didn't know what they implied but here are some explanations to the main ones that I could figure out. Sorry for not knowing how to write everything neatly! D:
The name of the song "Lähestymiskieloja" is meant to be taken as a pun. It literally means "approaching" (lähestymis) and "Lilies of the valley" (kielo; a type of flower). But it's meant as "LähestymiskielToja" which means "restraining orders". It's sung that the man would do anything for a woman, so basically he would go so all out that he ends up with a restraining order. I turned it into "Restraining Orchids", since orchids are also flowers, like Lilies of the valleys, and they're associated with such things as fertility, love, sexuality and virility. Since the song has some tones of those I thought orchids could fit the song title as another type of flower. I also kept the "restraining" because you could think that the flowers are kind of keeping the man under control and he doesn't "overdo" things for the woman since he's only giving her flowers.
I'm sorry this became so lengthy but I hope this helped! It's a catchy song. :D
