When A Star Dies

The sky changes
The music of the soul also changes
But you stay here with me

Here Between my stomach and my most invisible thoughts
You won't move

The life changes the ideas and the intentions
And nobody ever knows how is it possible

That when a star dies
It burns but it doesn't want to
A kiss fades away
And the universe will realize it
When a star dies, it hurts, it hurts

On many nights, I had bruises around my eyes
I've learned it on my own way
To lick my most invisible wounds away
Because that's how it's supposed to happen

But life changes its ideas and its intentions
And nobody ever knows how is it possible

When a star dies
It burns but it doesn't want to
A kiss fades away
And the universe will realize
When a star dies, it hurts, it hurts

Halfway between my fate and my house
The certainty that it was not my fault will come
It is not my fault

A kiss fades away
And the universe will realize it
That when a star dies
It hurts

"Che brucia ma non vuole" actually means "It burns but it doesn't want to"!! The verb "volere" -> "egli vuole" is 'to want' (-> he wants to), while the verb for 'to fly' is "volare".

Thank you, Saint-Laurent. To tell you the truth I know that "volare" means "to fly", but I confused the words when translating. Thanks for pointing that out.

HERE between MY stomachs and MY most invisible thoughts. (this is where he/she stays, it belongs to the previous sentence.)
AND YOU WON'T GO AWAY FROM THERE.

The life changes ITS MIND, ITS intentions

WHEN a star dies
'CAUSE it burns but it doesn't want to,
a kiss fades away,
and the universe will realize IT.
(The universe will notice/realize that when a star dies, its kiss fades away)
WHEN a star dies, it hurts, it hurts.

Troppe notti sotto agli occhi porto livide
This sentence basically means that she has bruises around her eyes (metaphor of bugs under her eyes)
because she has spent sleepless nights licking her wounds

Thank you for these warnings, alterego!

I have updated my translation.

I didn't know that the word "livide" meant "bruises". It was a false cognate I used in my translation, already corrected.

You're welcome!

Actually livido is an adjective (probably outdated, poetical) which means blue/violet/dark (the color of a bruise on your skin) and it comes from the noun livido/bruise.

People can have for example labbra livide dal freddo (lips blue with cold) or the sky can be leaden (cielo livido).

In any case, well done! Really. This song was very difficult!

Thank you for the explanation! Next year hopefully I'm beginning to take Italian classes, then I'll for sure understand more of that language and won't make any mistakes (or less).

I didn't know these idioms, thank you again! :)

And thank you for your opinion, this is a difficult song!
