I Do Want

I want to show you a path in the sea
A place that nobody has been able to reach
Where the wind is a friend, and the breeze is a sigh
Embracing your body, baby, when you pass by.

Woman, I want you to accompany me
I wish my song woke up after a night of sleep on your skin
And speak in your ear with no fear of forgetting
My favoured verses, my yesterday's verses.

I want to lost myself in your body and anchor
In your harbor my boat void of love
Writing on the sand my tears and my pain
Letting the waves take away my suffering.

Woman, I want you to accompany me
To share with me your life and after
When the autumn wind fondles your temples
To be together and united as yesterday.

I want to show you a path in the sea
A place that nobody has been able to reach
Where the wind is a friend, and the breeze is a sigh
Embracing your body, baby, when you pass by.

Woman, I want you to accompany me
I wish my song woke up after a night of sleep on your skin
And to speak in your ear with no fear of forgetting
My favoured verses, my yesterday's verses.

Hi, I tried to do this non "interpretative" version of this lyrics, but trying to
keeping the phrases meaning, and the rhythm for can singing on.
I would thank some suggestions.

There's too many mistakes, here are some of them.

Title: I do want > I want

I wanna show you a path aside to the sea > I want to show you a path in the sea
A place where nobody can arrives > a place where no one has been able to reach
that blows holding your body’s shape. > that embraces your body, darling 1, as it passes by.

acompañes = to accompany or keep company
I want that you are at my side > I want you to accompany me/keep me company, woman
Awaking with my singing slept on your skin > May my song awaken sleeping on your skin
And despairing the forgiveness saying to you
Close to your ear, my in loved verses,> and tell you to your ear, unafraid of forgetting
my verses of love
my verses of yesterday.

I wanna lost in your body and drop anchor > I want to lose myself in your body and anchor

  • 1. "pequeña" lit. 'little one' is a term of endearment here, any would be find: darling, love etc.

Thanks for taking your time correcting my translation.
But... I had mention that I try to make a "singable" version, for sing with
the lyrics even in English.

Without any contempt I invite to you that please makes a third version of this song.
The yours one would be the phrase by phrase version.

Even thou I will try to make some improvements guiding me with some of your sentences.

I made some changes, but I repeat it, I try to do a singable version.
Maybe I am far so that target, but I made that I can.

Other suggestions are welcome too.

It's one thing to make a singable version and another to completely fabricate lines where there are none in the original, ex: despairing forgiveness saying to you (and it doesn't even make sense).

EDIT: there's so many grammatical errors in these two lines:

that share with me your life and next > for you to share your life with me and then
When the autumn wind fondle tour temples (at least fix your mistake there: When the Autumn wind fondles your temple)
Autumn is a season so the A is capital and sien is singular so "temple".

felixnautafelixnauta

I do not know what could it happens with that so unfortunate phrase:
despairing forgiveness saying to you, I amended it.

But about the temple...in Spanish I hear "sienes" then is not "temples"?

felixnautafelixnauta

acaricie tu sien...........estar juntos....
acaricie tu sienes...........estar juntos...
The "sien" would be just one: for example:
cuando el viento acaricie tu mejilla...
But the sienes are two like the mejillas:
cuando el viento acaricie tus mejillas, in a similar way:
cuando el viento acaricie tus sienes

Sorry if my ear could not catch it, but I listened it well.

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 15:15

The lyrics were corrected by Arena and I hear exactly what's in these lyrics.

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 15:18

Okay, one difference is I don't hear "del otoño", but "el otoño", but from the grammatical point of view it must be "del".

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 15:23

Heard once more and now I understand why you may got a feeling it's "sienes". It's the combination of "sien estar" and the fast way in which Julio pronounces it which may be misleading.

citlālicuecitlālicue

I hear it as 'sien', not 'sienes'. Structurally, the lyrics feel a little broken:

But it could have been for artistic purposes, which is fine as long as we understand what he's saying.

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 15:33

Well, for me it makes perfect sense. Look at that carefully. The sentence is in fact "Qiero que tú ... y después ... estar juntos y unidos...". The rest is just sentence within a sentence.

citlālicuecitlālicue

me acompañes
compartas tu vida conmigo

felixnautafelixnauta

I corrected it again, trying to keep the "singable" style.

felixnautafelixnauta

Now I posted two version, one phrase by phrase, and a second one, more singable.

felixnautafelixnauta

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 15:26

sandringsandring    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 15:36

Ellen, Andrzej, él dice "tus sienes" muy claramente. Lo he corregido :)

Orale, pues ahora corregiré mi traducción. Gracias Nadia.

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 15:45

felixnautafelixnauta

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 17:21

sandringsandring    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 17:16

Felix, you can't have two translations on one page. Please, leave one here. If you want you can add the other one. :)

citlālicuecitlālicue

Felix you must either merge your translations or submit the other as a separate translation, it's against the rules to have two in the same entry when they can be two entries. Be prepared to explain why a second one deserves its own entry, as two translations (even singable ones) from the same author should be different enough that they merit two pages.

felixnautafelixnauta

Sandring, Phantasmagoria; I split them, and post them separately.
If the second one, my trying of doing a singable version is not enough
for keeping by itself, just delete it.

citlālicuecitlālicue

Felix, this will be the last time I comment because at this point we're just beating a dead horse:

I personally am not saying that it's not "good enough", and I understand that your intention was to submit a singable version. I understand this, believe me. What I'm trying to tell you is that even if you label it singable (it could be artistic too), it doesn't excuse the glaring grammar mistakes and just general mistakes in English. I feel like you need to have a better grasp of English to be able to make a translation, let alone a singable translation. If and when you decide you want help with that, I am more than happy to take this up through PM. I'm not going to let you sink in the ocean without at least trying to throw you a lifeline, you dig? I feel like what I submitted is somewhat of an acceptable singable translation, maybe take a look at that and tell me what you think. If your goal was to have a singable version, then I wouldn't mind collaborating to make that possible.

Sincerely,
Ellen.

felixnautafelixnauta

Thanks for your suggestions. When I try to make my first version I only read the Aldefina
transtaltion, he explains that was: "interpretativa" so, I try in vain to reach two goals
make it singable and very accurate with the meaning, I fail, and I must to make
the two versions.
I doesn't had say that your version must to be singable, I said since the start that your
version is NOT word by word, but phrase by phrase, and this is well; keeping
the meaning of every phrase.
Your translation is acceptable, and I saw it, just after of read the Alfonisnas translation.

And...yes, if you could help me by PM with it, there's no any problem.

sandringsandring    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 19:23

Felix, you've done the right thing to split them up but, please, work on the songs. So many grammar mistakes that my eyes ache. Use some grammar checkers, please. They're available in the net or ask someone for help on the site. :)

felixnautafelixnauta

Sandring, and all you, sorry, "that's all my English"...obviously I will try to improve it.

I was wondering...we are not English native speakers, except you Nadia.
Nothing would be better than you for a 5th translation of this song ha ha,
and I did not know that you like it like a gem too!

If you have the time, please let us see how must be sound a translation make it
for a native.

Cheers, felixnauta.

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 21:43

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 19:30

It would be better if you decided which one you want to keep and delete the other.

And I think that before you try to make a singable version you should improve your English. At the moment it's too early for such attempts. I can only repeat what Nadia just said.

felixnautafelixnauta

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 20:42

No cambié mucho.

felixnautafelixnauta

AldefinaAldefina    Уторак, 05/02/2019 - 22:05

felixnautafelixnauta

In your harbor my empty boat of love

I want that my dawn singing falls asleep on your skin

To write with my tears my sorrows on the sand

Post Data. no te veas obligado a responder.

felixnautafelixnauta

I want to lost myself in your body and drop anchor
in your sex my sex that’s desiring your love.

Mis intenciones NO ERAN artísticas o poéticas.

Saludos. Te recomiendo borrarla.

felixnautafelixnauta

Saludos.

sandringsandring    Среда, 11/08/2021 - 14:52

Felix, hola. Tienes el oído perfecto. Julio canta Cuando el viento y el otoño acaricie tus sienes. A mi me gusta mucho tu interpretación Fondles your temples - Yummy!

Here are my suggestions:

A place THAT nobody has been able to reach

I wish my song woke up after a night of sleep on your skin
And TO speak in your ear with no fear of forgetting (There's a change of pattern. That's not the best option but at least plausible :) )

I want to LOSE myself in your body and ANCHOR
In your harbor my boat void of love

Writing ON the sand my TEARS and my pain

Btw, you once asked me to do a singable. I finally did it but not because I didn't like the other translations but due to a quandary I found myself in. The other day I got stuck in a country house with no Internet. I had only Julio's CD to listen to. So I did this singable by ear. And I was perfectly sure he was singing el viento y el otono. Was surprised when checked on the lyrics later.

Saludos cordiales a todos
