"Sekä keväisin puuteriposki" - I translated this literally, "And in the springs a powdered cheek". I'm not happy with that. This is clearly some phrase or metaphor that I'm not understanding. If you think you understand the meaning, feel free to comment.
"Huhu siivillä synnyinmaan laitaa" - the Finnish lyrics are incorrect, but I'm not sure what's right. What I'm hearing is "huhusiivillä syynyy maa maittaa" which didn't make a lot of sense to me. In the end, I interpreted "syynyy" as related to "syynätä" or "syynäys" - "appears" - and "maittaa" as tasting good. In other words, the prospect of continuing the journey is looking appetizing to the wanderer. I don't know whether my interpretation is correct, but it seems plausible and makes sense in the context.
As usual for me, I employed some poetic license in order to make the English sound better. For example, I translated "paikatut" as 'resoled' rather than 'mended' (partly because I used 'mended' for the pockets and didn't want to repeat) and I translated "nilkkansa" as 'feet' even though it literally should be 'ankles'.
This was a challenging translation, but I feel confident that I captured the essence of the song. I hope you enjoy it.

"Kulkijan koti on kaihoisa tie, jolla saa päivästä toiseen kulkea. Matkatessa on aikaa miettiä ikäväänsä ja haikailla menetettyä rakastaan, kuitenkin iloiten siitä mitä on. Kulkija tuntee tiensä kuin omat taskunsa, tai muut omistamansa vaatteet. Hänen ystävinään ovat aurinko ja tuuli, joiden seurassa matkansa viettää. Illan tullen kulkija sulkee silmänsä ja hänen poskeaan koskee ikävän pehmeä käsi." (Kulkija-albumin vihkosesta)
"A wanderer's home is a nostalgic road that he must walk from day to day. On the road you have time to think about your longing and yearn for your lost love, yet being happy with what you have. The wanderer knows the road inside out, like the palms of his hands. He is accompanied by his friends: the sun and the moon. As the night falls, he closes his eyes, feeling the soft hand of longing on his cheek." (from Kulkija album's booklet)
