S'a sirena

A s'es illes de coral
S'a sirena encara canta sa cançó!
Pentinant-se e's cabells d'or,
Plora i crida el seu amor:
Aquell príncep que la mar
Arrossegà fins al seu llit,
Una nit...
I, de tant que s'estimaren,
Ell no volia partir!

Ni riqueses ni palaus
E's record de s'a sirena fan fugir
A en el príncep, qui viu trist,
Que d'amor se'n vol morir.
Fins que un dia, dematí,
Decidit fa e's seu vaixell
Mar endins...
Tots els peixos l'ajudaren
I tragué l'arc Sant Martí!

Un castell d'esculls i sal,
Un llit d'algues i un jardí d'ambre i coral,
Tota la mar per país
I s'es ones per cavall.
S'encanteri de l'amor
Cercava el seu cor ferit,
I vet aquí
Què s'a bruixa de s'es aigos
En mig peix l'ha convertit!

I si no són vius, són morts...
I si no són morts, són vius!

The Siren

In the Coral Islands
The siren is still singing her song!
Combing her golden hair,
She weeps and calls her lover:
That prince who was dragged
By the sea, into to her bed
One good night...
And they loved each other so much,
That he didn't want to leave!

Neither riches nor palaces
Drive away the siren's memory
From the prince, who lives in so much sorrow,
That he wants to die from love.
Until one day when, early in the morning,
All resolute he sails his boat
Into the deep sea...
All the fish helped him
And he brought the rainbow with him!

A castle of reefs and salt,
A bed of algae and a garden of amber and coral,
The whole sea is their kingdom
And the waves, their horses.
His wounded heart
Was seeking out the spell of love,
And lo and behold
The witch of the waters
Turned his lower half into a fish!

And if they're not alive, they're dead...
And if they're not dead, they're alive!

Ι felt so sad when I was little , reading the fairy tale of "Little mermaid" and "Little tin soldier"..But of course, loving and letting go is something we better learn to do, from young age...And of course, we mustn't lose hope as well. ;)

That is a beautiful thought, Flora! You're completely right: as we grow up, we face many bitter disappointments and we lose the magic of childhood, but we can always turn to hope in order to feed our spirits so that they never break.

Have a lovely evening, my dear friend! :)
