Oi, obrigado!
Para falar a verdade, eu sinceramente não conhecia nem tinha ouvido falar dessa expressão, 'tchuri, tchuri', LyricsTranslate é cultura, afinal de contas :D Obrigado por compartilhar, deixei uma nota de rodapé explicando, embora eu ainda não entenda bem essa expressão, acho que não é muito conhecida.
Hi Berliner,
Thank you, your suggestions are always appreciated!
1 - I didn't realize that 'prison' was going to change that much the whole meaning of the sentence, I took this case just like I took 'Hello my friends who are IN JAIL' case, it is literally 'in cell' in the song, but I wrote 'in jail' 'cause I think it sounded better. That's why I didn't write 'cell', but I've changed it. :)
2 - Thanks, some plural nouns are a little bit tricky for me, as they change their spelling.
3 - I assumed it would be 'prison system' because of the line that comes afterwards, which talks about it. But, now you pointed it out, it does make sense to me.
4 - It sounds simpler, that's good. I wonder the difference in meaning of 'everything' and 'all' in that sense, why did you stick to 'all' instead of 'everything'? Just a doubt because if I was going to write it, I'd write 'Everything he wants is a little sunshine'.
5 - The ending of your sentence is much better than mine, I'll keep the beginning of mine though. It's because he does not pray for real, like he is on his knees praying for God, but he is hoping that the guard is not corrupt. Unless that in English 'pray' does not simply imply real prayer, but hoping that something doesn't happen as well.
6 - I thought 'lighted' was ok, because I have already heard of it before, maybe it has another usage. Anyway, thank you.
Thanks again and have a good day/evening!
Encontrei uma outra opção:
Dizem que o sistema carceral tem problema
Ninguem se interessa, querem que paguem suas penas
Fumador matador, estrupador tudo igual
Vejo mais respeito lá no mundo animal
Thanks for the additional info, this makes much more sense now. I've changed the original lyrics, as well as the translation.
(I listened to the song and this part you brought is really in the song, I don't know why I didn't listen to it before. Next time I'll be smarter ;))
He wasn't bankupted by his attorney, it is how it is in the translation. "Advogado falido" literally means 'bankrupted lawyer', the lawyer who has no money because he lost his businesses, etc.
@Berliner: I was expecting for your answer, don't you have any answer for me?
Thanks to Berliner25 and cambria who helped me understand and correct some parts!
