The text of the song was changed.
The first version has a line Мы трижды плюнем через левое плечо. Word-for-word "We will spit over a left shoulder" Does it make sense in English? I could not find this one on the internet. That is why I have used the phrase "knock on wood" instead, with the same meaning "Тьфу, тьфу, тьфу, чтоб не сглазить".
During the Soviet Union times it was not good to be superstitious, the government policy, you know. I think the censorship had changed this superstition into "И поцелуем горячо, сперва разок, потом другой, потом еще". The second one is about kissing only.
And now we have two versions of the same line.
The fourth verse in English does not follow the text (the last line).
The fifth verse in English does not follow the text (all lines, it is the first verse in Russian).
The 4th and the 5th verses in Russian are the same, exсept the last line. I mean your text editing (19.08.2019).
attempting to make it more understandable from other based on other translators response. Clarification required.
