За тридевять земель – очень далеко. Этот фразеологизм фольклорного происхождения. Слово тридевять представляет собой сложение двух числительных: три и девять. Оно восходит к тому времени, когда на Руси наряду с десятеричной системой исчисления существовала и девятеричная (в этой системе тридевять обозначало 27)

I think it's close to the original, nice job. Perhaps those inversions you seem to be very fond of, like :
"So my emotions better understand I might."
don't sound quite natural. In Russian the word order is much freer (but the original here sounds quite natural).
But this sounds good to me :
Не закрывай за мной ты сразу дверь.
Don't shut the door behind me right away.
Same rhythm ! And nothing forced.
"за тридевять земель..." Perhaps you should add a footnote here, I love this expression, borrowed from "skazki".
