"sunsets" = "Sonnenuntergängen".
"Abendröten" ist zu frei, denke ich.
"Streit", nicht "Striet". "ie" = langes i, "ei" = "ai".
"the life of a woman or man?"
"It’s time now to sing out, tho the story never ends" würde ich so verstehen:
"Jetzt ist es Zeit, laut zu singen, auch wenn die Geschichte niemals endet".
"let's celebrate" ist eher "lasst uns feiern".
"erinnern wir uns an ein Jahr im Leben von Freunden."
"Erinnere dich an die Liebe!"
"Miss es in Liebe. " (Maßeinheiten ohne Artikel).
I tried to make this singable to the original meter, but German has so many more syllables than English... Some of my word choices are a bit strange and/or old-fashioned in order to fit the meter better, but the original is also written in a fairly formal, old-fashioned style. I didn't always manage to make it rhyme, and sometimes I translated a bit freely in order to make it rhyme.
Sciera, thanks for the corrections. :) I've incorporated some of them into my translation. Your more literal translations are indeed closer to the meaning of the English, but I have kept my freer translations for the sake of singability. I am keeping "erinnere (die Liebe/ein Jahr)" instead of the more usual "erinerre dich an (der Liebe/einem Jahr)" for singability; it is also a correct form according to Duden.
