The unknown patient

Versioner: #1#2#3#4
Every night my home is broken into
I'm sure they are the blokes upstairs
They eat also the dry food from the larder
And they leave Boston-fags into the ashtray
I'm fed up with being scared
That's why I sleep with a pistol under my pillow
I am used to using it
It served me already at the front

Stalin conquered Helsinki today
I informed it the nurse
And of course I hid under my bed
They brought me another pill again
I hid it between the mattress
This malady made me lose my senses even I fought back

CHORUS
Hear my wish, I want out (of here)
Couldn't my time be up already?
I've already seen this life
I got everything and even more
Hear my wish, I want out (of here)
Couldn't my time be up already?
I'd want to leave like a soldier
Sincerely: the unknown patient

The last time I saw grandpa
He didn't know me anymore
Condition had broken down
He had vanished back into Raatteentie*

I got a phone call from the nursing home yesterday
Grandpa has got out from wars
Even I cry I believe
That we will meet again
When we are carrying your casket
We walk through the churchyard
Now I understand the request
That made me angry

CHORUS
Hear my wish, I want out (of here)
Couldn't my time be up already?
I've already seen this life
I got everything and even more
Hear my wish, I want out (of here)
Couldn't my time be up already?
I'd want to leave like a soldier
Sincerely: the unknown patient

I would translate "mä haluan pois" to "I want to get out"

Sure Raatteentie is a road name. However, Mr Wiskari is of course referring to the battle of Raate Road ("Raatteen tien taistelu"). The grandpa has lost himself in the memories of this battle...
