Each late night, early morn
The dread is always the same
Putting off sleep to avoid
The pain of another day
Darkness holds an air intense
A heart thumping solitary
Images running by variant
Their claim always the same
Year after year, day after day
Anticipation of iniquities
Made ago, brought forth still
And wounds go on unhealed
They that care not of others
Pander not insults freely made
Their self absolution deemed
In ignorance inconcievable
Tomorrow, rather today here
Creeps on and vanaishes too
Only to take on another day
Another year to endure yet
Only the grave shall quell it
The horrors daily ever present
Each day drab, each night long
Until the numbness is eternal
