Raquel Sofía - Antes de ti (İngilizce translation)

İspanyolca

Antes de ti

Nunca pensaba encontrar el amor en tu pecho escondido
Con un relámpago, el cielo nos puso en el mismo camino
He tirado millones de rocas
Has besado millones de bocas
Pero el río solo desemboca en este mar

Hay tanta gente en el mundo
Tú y yo somos de otro planeta
Somos un cuento de hazaña
Somos un verso de poeta
Se juntaron la suerte y el dado
El martillo encuentra su clavo
No hay nada que ha superado este amor

Y siempre, siempre has sido tú
Siempre, siempre ah ah
Siempre, siempre has sido tú

Y siempre, siempre has sido tú
Siempre, siempre ah ah
Siempre, siempre has sido tú
Mi techo, mi almohada, mi guerra ganada
Semilla sembrada en mi centro

Toda la vida te voy a llevar
Entre una página, entre un abrir y cerrar
No conocía lo que era amar antes de ti
Antes de ti

No tengo ojos para nadie más
Opacas todo al igual que un eclipse solar
No conocía lo que era amar antes de ti

Siempre, siempre has sido tú
Siempre, siempre ah ah
Siempre, siempre has sido tú
Mi techo, mi almohada, mi guerra ganada
Semilla sembrada en mi centro

İngilizce translation

Before You

I never thought I will find love in your hidden chest
With a lighting, the sky put us in the same way
I've thrown millions of rocks
I've kissed millions of mouths
But the river empties into this sea.

There so many people in the world
You and I are rom other planet
We are a tale of feat
We are a verse of a poet
The luck and the dice got together
The hammer finds its nail
There's nothing that has overcome this love.

And always, always it has been you
Always, always ah ah
Always, always it has been you
My ceiling, my pillow, my won war
Planted seed in my centre.

All the life I'm going to have you
Between a page, between a blink
Before you, before you
(Before you)

What's the use of a shoe if it's not walking together with its partner?
We are two souls carved, made of the same wood
The best that the world has given me is your eyes seeing me
Two gypsies have found each other in the love.

And always, always it has been you
Always, always ah ah
Always, always it has been you
My ceiling, my pillow, my won war
Planted seed in my centre.

All the life I'm going to have you
Between a page, between a blink
I never knew what love was before you.

I only have eyes for you
You darken everything just like a solar eclipse
I didn't know what loving was before you.

Always, always it has been you
Always, always ah ah
Always, always it has been you
My ceiling, my pillow, my won war
Planted seed in my centre.

"No tener ojos para nadie más" is a spanish phrase that can be translated literally for "Not having eyes for anybody else" but we use it to say that "we can't look at anyone" that "Our love is just for one person"

Thank you for your amazing translations. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you didn't translate a little part.
(No tengo ojos para nadie más
Opacas todo al igual que un eclipse solar
No conocía lo que era amar antes de ti)
Could you please add this part to your translation?

Small changes...

"Disembogue" is a very technical and practically unknown word even by native English speakers. It's better to say "But the river only flows into this sea."

A line is missing from the first chorus translation ("I never knew what love was before you").

"No tengo ojos para nadia más" can be literally translated as "I don't have eyes for anyone else" or (better) "I only have eyes for you." This idiom exists in both languages.

I the case of "disembogue" I left it like that 'cause the word "desembocar" has also a very rare use in spanish, it's kind of "poetical" use. The guy who asked for the translation has de last word, I know what you mean I totally get you, but that's my point of view. In the case of the idiom, you're right, and I have use it other times... I totally forgot about it this time.

Well, if you leave it, you must conjugate it in 3rd person singular, "disembogues."

But as a native speaker with an EXTENSIVE vocabulary, I must insist that VERY FEW people will know the word. In Spanish, even those who have never seen it will understand it to mean "empties its mouth," "discharges," or "emerges," just because of how the word is formed from common prefixes and root words -- des- + em- + boca. An English speaker has no such point of reference.

According to the website educalingo, "desembocar" is "bastante utilizado" in Spanish, the 17,045th most common word... so most speakers will know it. In English, on the other hand, "disembogue" is "used very little" and ranks 177,769th in order of frequency... compared to an average adult native speaker's vocabulary of only about 35,000 words. English speakers won't find it poetic; they'll just find it confusing.

Of course, it's your translation. But "empties into ..." would still carry the poetic imagery of a river flowing into a sea, of reaching an inevitable destination, without sending the reader searching for an unabridged dictionary.
