The Enchanted Violin (Sat a bird)

Versiyonlar: #1#2#3
Sat a bird white winged upon a poplar,
Set the sun upon the evening beyond the fields.
I have loved, I have loved onto anguish,
A young, a young violinist.

I have loved, enchanted by the strings,
That melody lost in the grove.
In the green grove when the cranes return in spring,
I have brought my heart to the violinist.

I had gone to him, as if enchanted by the moon,
I had gone to him, as to a March spring.
And I did not know, that, that enchanted music,
Was not for me, but for another resounding.

Sat a white winged bird upon a poplar,
Set the sun upon the evening beyond the fields.
I have loved, I have loved onto anguish,
A young, a young violinist.

Hi Steve.
I don't think" Журавлиною весною" translates as " Cranberry spring" It's the time of the spring when cranes arrived.

In the cranes' spring; in the spring of cranes Regular smile
Anyway, this is definitely not about the cranberries, but about the crane birds Regular smile

Hi! Thank you, Steve, for the nice translation. Guys, I don't know, where to publish what is following. This song became a Ukrainian folk song indeed, but originally, the author of the text is Yuriy Rybchynskyy, composer - Ihor Poklad.
