La vie en rose (İngilizce çevirisi)

A Life of Joy

With eyes that make mine fall
And lips that hide a smile
This is the portrait without guile
Of the man to whom I give my all.
When he takes me in his arms
And speaks to me with all his charms
A life of complete joy is what I see.
He says to me sweet nothings
Simple words that mean something
So very very dear to me.
He has entered into my heart
And filled its happy part
And the reason why is easy to see.
He is for me and I for him for all time
He said it and then swore it in words so sublime.
And when I see him
I feel within
The fluttering of my heart.
With endless nights of love so long
An overwhelming happiness has taken place
Of all the sorrows that it has erased
I'm so happy I could die in song
When he takes me in his arms
And speaks to me with all his charms...

Again, I have not tried to do a literal translation from French to English because the English would not rhyme and could not be sung. See, e.g. my "singable" translation of "A quoi ca sort l'amour." Instead, I tried to retain the sense of the original French words as well as the original rhyming pattern so that you could sing along with The Little Bird. I'd appreciate any comments good or bad.
