Malagueña Salerosa

Qué bonitos ojos tienes
Debajo de esas dos cejas
Debajo de esas dos cejas
Qué bonitos ojos tienes

Ellos me quieren mirar
Pero si tú no los dejas
Pero si tú no los dejas
Ni siquiera parpadear

Malagueña salerosa
Besar tus labios quisiera
Besar tus labios quisiera
Malagueña salerosa

Y decirte niña hermosa
Eres linda y hechicera
Eres linda y hechicera
Como el candor de una rosa

Si por pobre me desprecias
Yo te concedo razón
Yo te concedo razón
Si por pobre me desprecias

Yo no te ofrezco riquezas
Te ofrezco mi corazón
Te ofrezco mi corazón
A cambio de mi pobreza

Malagueña salerosa
Besar tus labios quisiera
Besar tus labios quisiera
Malagueña salerosa

Y decirte nina hermosa
Eres linda y hechicera
Que eres linda y hechicera
Como el candor de una rosa

Y decirte niña hermosa...

Rose Leave of Malaga

What pretty eyes you have,
Under those two eyebrows,
Under those two eyebrows,
What pretty eyes you have,

They want to look at me,
But you don't even let them,
But you don't even let them,
They don't even take a blink,

Rose leave of Malaga,
And to tell you, beautiful girl,
that you are sweet and bewitching,

For you are sweet
Sweet and bewitching,
For you are sweet and bewitching,
As the innocence of a rose,

If you despise me because I am poor,
I grant you reasoning,
I grant you reasoning,
If you despise me because I am poor,

I do not offer you wealth,
I offer you my heart,
I offer you my heart,
In exchange for my poverty,

Rose leave of Malaga,
And to tell you, beautiful girl,
that you are sweet and bewitching,

For you are sweet
Sweet and bewitching,
As the innocence of a rose,
And to call you, beautiful girl.

Hi, N.F, and thank you for your translation.
Tell me, the title, is it an originality, or is it that you don't know the meaning of "salerosa"?

Sorry for my rather very late answer, as I had not seen it as yet.
Thanks for your kind comment.
I think salerosa may refer to a person (here a girl) having a salt shaker like attribution or grace in her charm.

I appreciate if you make comment on mine.

Thanks.

Hi, NE, and thank you for your answer. Better late than never.

I asked you this question about the title because it seemed to me really original. I think more so now, when I see that you know the literary meaning: 'gracious girl from Malaga'.
Funny: the song, a Mexican Huapango, sings to an Spanish girl. In the movie "Enamorada" was sung to María Felix, as Mexican as the huapango itself.

Since I am here, I want to comment a couple things in your translation:
Second stanza - "pero si tú no los dejas" --> "but you don't even let them / you don't even let them blink"
Third stanza - The idea of the two last verse continues with the following ines. Something like:
"Rose leave of Malaga,
And to tell you, beautiful girl,
(that) you are sweet and bewitching ( "that = Que" You will see it is used at the end of the song. Here, the idea is the same.)
Sweet and bewitching ...'')

Well, take a look, and see what you think,

Hasta pronto

Thank you for responding to my suggestions, but, I don't think I explained it well, because, now, the translation doesn't follow the original. You are missing something. It should be:
Third stanza -
"Rose leave of Malaga,
Besar tus labios........
Besar tus labios..........
Rose leave of Malaga, (I would make this stanza four verses)

"Y decirte, niña hermosa,
you are linda.......
you are linda.......
como el candor.......

Please, take another look and complete it.

Thank you

I just listen to the video and Javier Solís doesn't sing the second part. (?)
